Perhaps a stupid Question....
But when was the last Time you took some Tools and cleaned the Fan ?
When i would not do that like 4x a Year ... my GPU would become noisy and hot...
Dust,Tar from smoking,Hairs.... all type of Crap assembles on the Fan Blades.
When 1 Blade gets a bit heavier then the other you already get vibration Noise.
Also the Cooling Rips/Radiator Fins... the openings between them is supposed to be free so air can ventilate it... when its all covered with a carpet like structure of Dust and Hairs your Fan has to rotate on max all the Time
I really cant imagine how loud your GPU must be (or how crappy your Headphone insulation) when you can hear it.... when i play Hunt i dont even hear my Doorbell 5 meters away or my Cellphone ringing.
btw i use a 970 GTX... one generation older...
But yeah you should probably dust it out once in a while, less dust means it needs less fan speed to keep it cooled
without dsr running i run at 2560x1439 on 120 fps all low at 80-85c loud fan but high curve
Get some Tweezers... even when you dont smoke its like all woven together and you peel off like a whole Layer of carpet like Dust/Hair Crap.
When you just brush it away it will fall deeper into the Radiator thats not good.
I personally have a Vacuum Cleaner on my Lap like fixed under my Knee so i can hold the GPU with 1 Hand close and loosen the Dirt with the other Hand and then its instantly sucked into the Vaccum Cleaner
And before you pull the GPU from the Socket.... touch something heavy made of Steel... like Heaters or a Door handle.... its to unload the static electricity .. we have so many "plastic clothes" today that its quite easy to load up and dont notice it.
yeah and for winter times you switch the clock an hour later right?
Then set the graphics to max... if I turn everything down, I don't hear anything either.
Did you 'plan' the airflow through your PC's chassis?
Check your mainboard manual for how many fans are supported; then plan input and output fans e.g. In from the front then out via back/top/side.
You may want to replace any stock 120mm fans with silent ones, they are like £5 each.
