Hunt: Showdown 1896

Hunt: Showdown 1896

Please Baby Jesus Stop Bunny Hopping
What place does it have in this game? How does it make any sense for a person to JUMP around a corner and fire their gun with perfect accuracy?

Pardon my bluntness, I am not sober, but after having been killed by someone who was MID AIR for the 1014th time, I am getting a little upset.

Please make it stop. Thank you.

Haters gunna hate, I know. You want your jumpshots because you think it makes you cool. It doesn't. It's just sad. The meta right now is sad. Make it not sad. Please. Thank you.

The problem is if you are not doing it during fights, you are giving your opponents the advantage, because they definitely WILL be doing it.

The problem is that you can fire accurately while jumping. In a game with this setting, theme, and mood, it makes no sense. It makes sense in Unreal Tournament (because it's unreal) and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Halo (because they have combat suits and targeting systems). But here, no. Just no.

Ok, next time I'll stand still so you can shoot me in the head. :)

What a great way of telling everyone that you didn't get the point!

i personally love the jump/dodging mechanic, it really is a huge difference between bad and good players

It's not about beeing "cool". The the defence we have to not get shot in the head. It feels odd indeed, but how is Crytek supposed to fix this? We need the ability to jump to navigate through the map, so removing is not a thing. It already got nerfed so that we significantly slow down after two rapid jumps.
Without it we would be standing targets. I would have killed dozens, i would have been killed dozens without it.

It makes the difference between players who are good at jump-shooting around corners, sure. To me, that's not what this game should be about. But I'm not a dev, so here we are.

The problem is not jumping.... it's that you have the same accuracy while mid-air as you do while standing.

I have no illusions that this will be fixed. Every big streamer I've seen who plays Hunt plays like they're the star of a Hollywood action movie. So nerfing that playstyle in favour of what the game SEEMS to be about when you first play it isn't going to happen. I am well aware I'm barking at the moon.

Your problem is a non-problem it seems. You are appealing to a majority of the playerbase through a steam discussion asking them to ignore a viable part of the combat meta because it doesn't fit the game's setting? Have you ever played CSGO before? A counter terrorism organization versus a group of terrorists seems like a very serious setting, yet people do all sorts of weird movement tricks to gain an advantage in combat because that's just how it works

Some people really misunderstand what bunny hopping is. What you mention is a guy randomly jumping, not bhop. Thing is nowhere as strong as it used to since the lightfoot nerf. Sure, you can get away with bhoping 3-4 times, but no more if you want to be silent; your character will make a jump sound anyway after that, not to mention if you mess up somehow (you bump into something, random lag...) you will get penalized and slowed down

You will see this on good players, they dont abuse it as before, but rather they find an specific timing to gain ground using 3-4 jumps, no more successively

It's totally alright to point something out, even tho it won't propably changed or is beeing disagreed by others.

Im kinda confused that you are capable of shooting mid-air. Precisely. I have tested it with revolvers and noticed some intense sway while jumping. Is this not the case with full size weapons?
