You'll like EFT if you want to dedicate your life to it and enjoy spending most of your time playing inventory Tetris. You'll also want to buy the most expensive edition or else you'll be trying to remember which backpack inside a backpack, inside a backpack, inside a backpack, inside a backpack, inside a backpack, inside a backpack, inside a backpack you left your spare magazines in.
Actually, even if you buy the Ultra Good Goy edition you'll probably be doing that anyway.
I just want a time travel event where we can play Hunt on the map Interchange.
EFT is basically for two types of people:
a) People into mil-sim role play. The types of people who will put thousands of hours in a game like Arma.
b) People who will grind and invest time so they can bully newer or less well-equipped players.
There are so many cool things about EFT and little things that I like, but when you combine all the parts and look at the whole, it's just not very fun.
I wouldn't compare Arma to Tarkov because Arma has a solid community in each server who will guide you, in EFT if you don't have a buddy with experience, you are in for a threat.
Sadly the complexity of the game which draws a lot of people is also one of the most irritating things about it and sometimes I wonder if its really worth the time you invest in
After like 10 minutes player scavs can spawn into the raid. They can spawn in with only a few minutes left in the raid and basically have to rush for extract too.
Another thing worth mentioning about EFT is the cheaters. People complain about cheaters in Hunt but I've only ever encountered like 2 for sure cheaters. A handful of kinda sus probably lucky players.
EFT has a very large cheating community. So much so that the game even has real money marketplaces (I forget the term for them). Basically cheaters will sell players ill-gotten items, in-game money, etc for real world money like USD. There are also many "carry" services where you can pay to have a cheater on your team who will kill everyone and guide you to the best loot.
Imagine if in Hunt you could pay me $5 and I guarantee you come out of a 20 minute game with $30k, 10 Avtomats, 2 Nitros, and a dozen Uppercuts. There's a lot of that, or at least there used to be in EFT.
Don't even try a Labs raid, that's just who has the better aimbot.
To add to the feedback I would say that EFT is a game where unlike Hunt it can feel truly unbalanced due to the massive gun porn. Basically, you can shoot someone 10 times with a confirmed hit without them even flinching because your ammo type is not strong enough for their armor, while their weapon can obliterate your armor with 1 shot.
The game is great for people who enjoy deep customization and looting-shooters with a huge mil-sim influence. Overall, if you want to try it ask a friend for an account and do some scav runs to feel the nature of the gameplay.
Both are a bit different.
If you love hunt solely for how fast you can get into PvP fighting and the overall PvP. I'd say Hunt is the better game.
If you enjoy the bounty seeking, ambushing, ratting around.... EFT.
EFT is more focused on TONS of quests and map exploration. You'll have just as much fun killing the NPCs as you would players in most situations, where as in Hunt they are just strictly there as an annoyance rather than an obstacle.
Hunt I'd say is better if you are looking for PvP.
EFT is better if you want to basically have Hunt with real objectives and much.... much more complex maps.
I'll have to disagree.
A lot of the times the quests are completely stupid similar to the daily/weekly quests in Hunt, and ask you to find or collect stupid ♥♥♥♥ like particular foods or just annoying to find quest items. Whats the most annoying part is that your progression with each merchant is reset on a wipe so the madness is one entire loop.
Map exploration is nothing after some hours into the game. You know which maps have this and that high priced loot and you go to look for it. In hunt your objective is simple and is there to create contact between players or even to create tension when all teams are on 1 objective. NPC's are easy to handle but are hell on earth if you are in a PvP battle and they start to swarm you. Basically, EFT provides you with missions which lvl up your reputation with the merchants for all sorts of goodies, while Hunt wants you to collect the bounties and possibly clear the map.
