Hand Crossbow + Poison

I was playing solo, handnt played in years. Was having fun, killed spider solo, banish started....some guy was waiting right around the corner, I was full health, I mean 4 bars worth...I shot him in the chest with a rifle, the semi auto one. Hit regged. Proceeded to miss my second shot...I get hit with what was called a hand crossbow with a poison dart...I died before I even had a chance. Read patch notes, said it wasn't sposed to go down like that, am I the only one? Wicked stupid IMO.

there is no semi-automatic rifle in the game, there are two medium-slot semi-automatic pistols(bornheim match and dolch precision), and a several repeating rifles, did you mean one of those?

They reduced the Poison dart impact dmg on body hit, but headshot is still 1 hit kill.

My rifle was the uh, ♥♥♥♥ if I know, it really isn't the point, I didn't die from a headshot, I literally got hit by this dart...and my health fell to about 1/2 a chunk....then 1 second later I fell over dead. Anyway I'll just work on my git gud skills....obviously I wasnt as ready as Spongebob.

Yeah, the poison dart isn't enough to kill with a single shot to the body, but if you haven't used an antidote shot, then the poison tick will finish the job.

Yes, even poison handcrossbow can kill. Don't stand in the cloud, move.

You shoot twice, get hit and then die 1 second after to the poison cloud. Seems like plenty of a chance to not die.

he could also be referring to the officer carbine maybe, double action feels pretty close to semi-auto and its shaped like a rifle.
