Hunt: Showdown 1896

Medi-Kit Slot
Thinking that the medi-kit is a must-have item, and together with knife or knuckles the must-haves already eat up 2 of the juicy tool slots, how about moving the medi-pack to an extra slot that is bound to a specific key and instead freeing another tool slot for an item of choice.

Thoughts?

I think the point is that you have to decide weather to use up a slot for the med-kit, or a spot for a vit shot. you can even go with both, or none, the choice is there because of that.
you are free to set custom key bindings.

i always have my med-kit on the 4th slot, so i know that i just have to press 4 and LMB to heal with a med-kit.

i'd recommend never using the mouse-wheel to select anything. use custom key-binds and the numbers 1 through 6.

CAPSLOCK, G, C, B and the mouse buttons are great for consumables.

But I think no one uses vitality shot instead of med kit. It's always an addition, not an either / or.

I think that's a good idea. Taking a med pack is not really optional - so from a design perspective it would make sense to make it its own category of item.

Thoughts?

1) make med-kit its own category with its own slot
2) give all hunters only 3 tool slots
3) introduce a trait for 3 upgrade points that let you set any tool in medkit slot
4) profit

Why make things too complicated? Unique slots for only one item. I would rather have 8 item slots and set there any number of tools or consumables I want. If you set a tool in the slot it stays a tool slot. If you choose a consumable or left the slot empty it will be a consumable slot for the whole match.

Your sugestion would only make sense to me, if there would be multiple variants for medkits (different speed of healing, number of charges, amount of HP healed...)

It is tho, because if you want to take more tools, maybe you have to change a med-kit for more vit shots. or you have to give up on taking more tools, because you need a med-kit.

You always have a choice to take one, like you have the choice to not take one, or to take a melee or not, even tho most people take melee too...

I wouldn't be opposed to this though I doubt it'll happen.

For who? I don't think anyone smart will tell you to forsake bandages in lieu of tools, especially when doctor exists. Also what happens when you're missing a single bar? You either have to run around missing health until you find bandages or waste a shot. That, or you pick up Ghoul all the time which is a waste with so many other better perks IMO.
