This game has some zombies in so you can split hairs but no traditionally coop games are games where you fight as a team PVE.
I do not know anything about the alpha version, if it was like Left4Dead that is interresting. There could centrainly a mode with waves for enemies spawnign while you fight the boss or something like that. Not opposed to that at all its just not what the game IS right now.

The current PVP is terrible because:
-no matchmaking
-no reconnect
-no killcam
-low server tickrate (15, if I'm not mistaken)
-"Shooter priority" over server priority when registering hits
-cheaters who easily kill players, but cannot fight with pve at all (The problem is not that they actually play poorly, the problem is that they exist).
I really hope what somebody in this all game industry can create FPS game with real weapons, real physics, setting in 19th century and with a good PvE gameplay. As you can see, where is no game like that. Only Hunt have something similar...but no PvE.
Because this was example of coop and PvE games, which I showed because some haters here can't understand what PvE can be fun too. Just need to make good design.
It was like Resident Evil gameplay but with Coop mode as in Left 4 Dead. You even can watch gameplay of it on YT it called "Hunt Horrors Of The Gilded Age".
You will be laugh, but main game is the same as in alpha. You play with a team in dark bayou against zombies and in the end will be boss.
Changes in Hunt Showdown: first person view, larger map, other players, simple bosses and not many monsters.
Will Crytek actually ever add it? No, probably not. Tbh in my eyes Crytek doesn't inspire much confidence when it comes to adding content to Hunt. In the past 3 years they've managed to add, what, 2-3 bosses and 1 map? And of course a bunch of DLC skins.
I personally am not against the PvE game. I really liked the idea of the original Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age.
However, I feel like they really need to be separate games, not different game modes in the same game. I feel it would take away too much from the concentration focus of developing the game.
Let's take an example;
World of Warcraft with PvE and PvP. How much did PvP effect PvE? A lot.
Many changes had to be made to game mechanics, classes and so on because of PvP and it all reflected to PvE.
Granted, Hunt is not an MMORPG but I fear something similar could happen. So I would make the PvE game its own thing so they can concentrate in making the best PvE experience in it without needing to worry how it would effect the PvP side.
This is True, Look it up. Crytek did promise a PvE game mode for a long time, it was present on the developer road map for years.
The fact of the matter is this was a promised feature for a long time, and some people did purchase the title thinking they could eventually have several different ways to play.
Regardless of how some people feel about a PvE mode in their PvPPvE video game, the development team assured the customers it would be coming, sometime after the 1.0 update.
That way, when things like the PvP gets stale from scoped rifle spam, instead of not having fun, and playing a different title, they still have a chance to spend money on micro transactions, which is likely all crytek could really care about anyhow.
They back peddled on this promise after years, and after money has already been given. Kinda unfair in my opinion.

Oh god. I just hope they make a single player game about this lore.
My point is, there's plenty of pve oriented games out there that have large amounts of replayability.
