Steam deck
So apparently valve say their new steam deck console hasn't met a game it can't handle, my tower pc struggles when it shouldn't, anyone know any devs that's mentioned performance on the steam deck? Hunt on the go/in bed never to be left again sounds pretty promising.

Currently it is not looking good for any game that uses EAC to run on the Steam Deck. EAC does not currently work under Proton, which is what the Steam Deck uses to emulate windows. So the game client may technically run, but if there's no working EAC client, you won't be able to play online.

Why wouldn’t it run? It’s basically a PS4 and runs on 800p

The anti cheat software won't work with the Deck OS and whatnot.

At least not yet.

I know that may be an issue but they said they are working around it and I'm just wondering for optimisation, this game isn't the best for it

You will not be able to play Hunt on the steam deck at any reasonable performance. The CPU of the steam deck is kinda low spec for a CPU heavy game as Hunt.
Maybe at sub 720p 24-30fps obejct quality at low. Not really a good experience.
Why? Because Hunt runs on an old version of Cryengine DX11 only and is rather too CPU intensive.

also the nice GPU only has 1.63TFLOPS in theory while even an older 1060 6GB GTX has 4.4 TFLOPS.
Its a handheld device like the Switch and not a actual powerful gaming PC.

I don’t really care though. The point is to play in bed. It’s Crytek that won’t flip a switch and activate EAC Linux compatibility.

You are threatening to make me spill my coffee with laughter. Cheers.

It's working for me now.
