I can legit tell when another team is around ..... Ill start laggin and my ping will go through the roof ...
My ping is always between 15- 25 ms.
I have a good connection ( 1Gbit) and a good router (Asus RoG GT- AX 11000), so I do not think it is on my side. I have no packet loss to any server I ping check in the EU through speed Tests, my jitter is less than 1ms and I also do not have any issues in other games.
Ping / packet loss / download speed are all different things.
You can have a 1TBit connection and still experience packet loss and a high ping.
Issues like this are (I think) caused by dropped packets. So whereever you may live, you happen to have a "bad ISP" or an ISP that has some issues lately.
A few days ago one of the top-level DNS servers was down... Maybe it has something to do with that? I seriously dont know, and unless we get actual debug data, we cant really decide anything for certain.
And packetloss cant be measured like "Ima go and speedtest on that website".
Packet loss (can be) individual to one server or one region. So you would have to test that specific server and unless something changed crytek does not has their servers open for speedtesting.
And one thing I also want to mention: Some ISPs from what Ive heard went as far and tried to detect if you were making a speedtest and cranking up your connection just for you to not see any possible problems.
These speed test tools are good to find out if there is any packet loss at all in my connection on a lot of different servers....I wanted to exclude overall issues on my connections before I started to jump in this discussion.
So I could exclude that on my end and in my network. If you follow some streamers, you could see that some of them are having the packet loss issue as well in the EU or the US. I have 2 different ISPs tested so far, as I am in the good situation to have 2 different providers (Telekom (glass fiber) and Vodafone (cable).
The Akamai issue a couple of days ago could be related to the problem.
