In-game chat function: Team-based or Global?

Hi all,
Baby Hunter here.
Wanna ask, is the in-game chat function (during match) team-based or can be seen by all hunters?
If so, there a way to change it to team-based like other FPS games (Press tab during chat).

you cant change it, and its proximity based only those nearby can see it not sure on the distance exactly but you gotta be close.

Just curious, aside from pinging (middle-mouse button), how do you guys text chat / chat with in-game randoms without exposing yourself?

It is best to go to the official Hunt Discord server and find someone to play with over there. 3rd party software is the only way to communicate with your teammates without anyone else hearing it. If you don't speak English fluently or want to speak with your mother language, there are lots of different Discord Hunt servers for specific countries.

its fun to talk to your enemies sometimes especially when they are hiding in a building, makes for some fun moments when they answer.

Team chat would be fair for randoms. Because they play often vs premades who bypass all limitations with discord.

Randoms can go to the official Discord and talk there without having to worry about anyone else hearing it.
