More semi-automatic pistols?
Hey folks! It has been a long time since we got a new weapon. So I was thinking how the diversity of the pistols could be improved and it would be great to have more semi-auto pistols in the game. We already have the iconic broomhandle Mauser and the Bornheim, but it would be great to see things like the C-93 or the Salvator Domus. Cry could even add the FN (Browning) M1900 so we would have a slide action pistol. According to the Scrapbeak trailer the game sets around 1895, so it would even be accurate more or less (the M1900 was designed in 1896).

It could be a great way to have more ammo types in the pistols range. I think we need more sidearms with medium ammo. What do you think fellow hunters?

First of all there are no automatic pistols in the game, second game doesn't need more of them.
Dolch and Mandalorian are more than enough.

Yeah right it's semi-auto, sorry. But why do you dislike them so much?

They are hard to balance around other pistols.

So they end up expensive toys and try-hard totems.

Most guns will two tap to the body from relatively long range, so the faster they shoot, the more people complain.

Besides, there are lots of interesting pistols from the game-era that would be fun to add that would fit into the theme of the game.

TBH, I don't care about semi-auto pistols. Fanning makes everything semi-auto already, but at least you need traits for that to happen.

Anyway, if you have some fun suggestions, there's a place for that.

I think all semi-automatic weapons should be removed; Dolche, Bornheim, and the burst firing avtomat Mosin as none of them fit the theme or era of the game IMO. Top break open revolvers like the Smith & Wesson Schofields would be nice additions to the game. Also more American origin rifles like the Spencer would be ideal and so would a Long ammo Winfield such as the 1886 ( .45-70, .50-110 ), the 1895 ( .405 Winchester, .303 British, 7.62x54R ), or the 1894 ( .30-30 ). The Winfield 1895 in 7.62x54R ( Long Ammo ) would be a true Winfield competitor to the Mosin-Nagant 1891 and Lebel 1886 as it would use Spitzer ammo too and have either Marksman or Sniper scope variations. The Winfield M1895 would also reload via 5-round stripper clips like its real world counterpart and also the Mosin IRL and in the game.

imagine playing a western game and ask for more auto- semi auto weapons...dude avtomat and dolch is bs already why they should add more guns like this....and as "Troubleshooter" said there are still many guns that they can add from the real era of game.

Exactly. As I mentioned above; S&W Schofield and other new time period weapons would be great. Also would love to see an XP earned magazine loading Romero 77 variant with the Alof magazine reloading device.

Simply NO.
Less semi-automatic please or remove them all.
Thats what makes the gunfights so special in Hunt.

I dont get, why any game has to be the the same. There are millions of shooters with automatic weapons out there. Lets keep one, only one free of them.

nah personally I would want all semi automatic and fully automatic weapons removed from hunt (Dolch, Bornheim, Crown & king and Avto)

I think its a bit of a misconception that a gun like the FN M1900 would fire like a glock from present day. Probably the Bornheim (Bergmann) fires a bit too fast in the game (idk because I couldn't find any videos from this gun). I imagine that a C-93 wouldn't really shoot faster than most of the handguns in the game.

About the semi-autos breaking the wild west feeling... it's debatable imo. I don't mind seeing different kinds of guns from that era, they are vastly underrepresented in games and in other media. Just please make them balanced in the game.

if you make fanning, levering and quartermaster perks permanent on each hunter, then sure you can add semi weapons or even auto weapons, but otherwise its unbalanced.
Eos Jun 24, 2021 @ 12:11pm
Only if they separate rate of fire in ADS and hip-fire. If you really want to aim you will shoot slower. It would be better for other semi-auto weapons too.
Cruddy Jun 24, 2021 @ 12:29pm
No, too many semi-autos take away from the unique setting of Hunt, as it is now is fine where we have a really expensive and powerful Semi-Auto handgun and a cheaper alternative that's still really good. I really want a break open revolver like the Schofield and I think we need a higher tier Revolver that isn't the Uppercut, I'm tired of that being the go-to gun for nearly every loadout.
