Narrative wise... why would your hunter even show up with unsuitable gear like a scoped weapon at night time? If you could intentionally choose suitable gear for a night hunt then it would be more enjoyable.
it's hard on my eyes and i dislike playing night maps and so do most of my mates.
it's always the same thing:
- at least one team slow rolling around the boss-lair, hardcore bush-camping with a passive playstyle
- at least one team leaves instantly and is missing, so less enemies on the map
this leads to slow rounds with little to no action. something i really dislike.
--
night maps are frustrating and boring and crytek noticed that a large portion of players quit night and fog maps upon spawning in.
so they decided to lower their chances, which was a great change.
--
the people calling for "more night maps!" are actually a vocal minority, that through spam-messaging are seeking to make their opinion more valuable and common than it actually is.
As i know its only 4% because 8% for night AND fog maps.
I hope it will increase soon again because leavers also leave night/fog maps with only These 8 %. With leavers i mean the one Who leaves in "waiting for players" time. Not the one Who has At least a little bit Honor and go to an extraction point.
So the First one desroying the gamingexpirience, they also "steal" it from the one's Who like the nightmaps (with the reduced chances to get into a nightmap)
-I would suggest to bring back a solid contract again with only nightmaps.
-a Filter to choose Favorit day/night maps in random contracts
-or just punish Player who just leaving in the "waiting for player" time with losing they're hunter like someone would alt+f4 in a running match.
It's sad to see so many complaining about night and fog maps. We won't be seeing storms or any rain at all because of this, things I'd personally love to see. But I see that the majority dislikes the slow pace of the game that the developers originally intended to achieve, too. The fog does look terrible though, and I wouldn't say it's realistic either - they should make it more mystical and creepy.
Maybe night maps are campy on low MMR sub 5-6 stars or people play differently on different regions.
Also find a new game? Are you serious? The game was designed and launched with night time nitwit. It was one of the only two types of weather you had in early access. However when Hunt moved out of EA and the devs made it easier for casuals (no sway, massive increase in velocity, gunslinger control schemes and so on) which is fine by the way. The bad thing about it turned out that all the casuals COD players just wanted yet another COD with different paint on top. And the devs listened because you outnumber the rest of us.
every night map im on, there is always action as usual and nobody is camping like crazy. makes so much fun because u need to turn up ur senses even more. that's the great thing about hunt and idk why ppl who just wanna rush thru play this game anyway.
Anyone here play the original DayZ mod for Arma2 back in the day (which all battle royale games were essentially born from)? During the first year or so of that mod becoming wildly popular (almost a million players iirc), each server had lengthy day night cycles, where night could literally last as long as actual night in the real world. NVG's were the most prized items because they compensated for the annoyance of night. After a year or so, as more and more community run servers came online with the tools to easily tweak server settings, night time basically went instinct due most players hating it. By far, most players hated night time when no night time was an option. I used to admin some servers for Arma 2 Overpochins mods, and any server we had that had a night cycle was extremely low pop or no pop at all, compared to high pop servers on day only or short night settings. Players often expressed that night time made getting to the pvp harder and harder for them, or they just didn't enjoy not being able to see things.
Eventually, in DayZ mod/Overwatch/Epoch/Overpoch/Origins and Arma 3 Exile, night cycles were either eliminated completely or they were set to brief night cycles. This was community driven. As much as I love night time in games like this, we're just going to have to accept that a huge majority of players will never play if night is a regular thing.
