Unplayable- stuttering
Hi.
I play hunt every single day.
Today when i logged on, my fps was constantly fluctuating. only 5fps. from 60-55. so quickly that it makes it look like im stuttering when i move. the game is totally unplayable.

Its almost like when my laptop unpluggs and i dont realize it, and performance just goes to ♥♥♥♥. But i verified that wasnt the case. Anyone know what could be going on? I have over 700 hunt hours of NOT having this issue.

Try uninstalling and installing again. I have this issue after every update. And that usually fixes it for me.

Its easy to just delete config, thats restart the game.

I have reinstalled game and verified game files. This trash ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game is still constantly stuttering out of no where. Does anyone have any insight to a solution?

More details needed. So far, only the most primitive and obvious advice can be provided:

Are you stuttering on first launch or having multiple matches? I also have problems the first time I start it. Then it's okay.
Yesterday I lost one 8GB stick of RAM. The memory began to work in a single channel. I thought that the memory was broken due to overclocking and increased voltage, but I dropped the overclocking, changed the bars in places, raised the overclocking again and everything worked. See if you have a similar problem, maybe you had 16GB of memory yesterday, and now it's 8 or 12.
If you have any overclocking, make sure the overclocking hasn't reset.
Do you have a "high performance mode" power supply? Maybe something has changed after updating Windows?
Do you have enough hard disk space?
Check your hard drive for errors and bad sectors. I had such that the games began to freeze. It turned out that the hard disk began to pour errors.
Check the temperature of the components, the processor or video core may be overheating. Perhaps the coolers are out of order, something got there, they got dusty and began to cool components worse.

How do other games behave? Test it, see if there are any performance changes.
Look at the load in the MCI afterburner and compare it with what it was before if you made observations.

Maybe it's not about the game, but about Windows, for example, some background processes appeared in Windows, such as antivirus or firewall, or viruses, or you installed some program or changed something. Either someone who also has access to the laptop changed it, or these changes were made automatically.
If you are using nvidia experience, disable it temporarily. what are your graphics settings? Lower the quality of the graphics.

I'm having the same problem. Prestige 28 here and was always smooth until now. if i restart the game enough times, sometimes it will be totally smooth like before. idk

Try to disable v-sync ingame as well as in gpu driver. I assume you have the game on SSD? If not - do so.

UPDATE: I have solved my problem. I did like 100 things honestly guys. But i did do a "test run" after everything i tried. Nothing worked...until I got thinking about overall issues with the game.

Once Hunt released the update that stopped allowing the Geforce overlay, thereby not allowing people to use filters- I noticed that all the clips I took (using alt f10), were all messed up. They were mega stutters on playback.
Long story short, I TOTALLY disabled geforce experience, shadow play, etc.

I believe that is was finally fixed it. I played 4 games last night with no stutters for the first time since i made this post.

Conclusion: While im not certain, I believe the issues of stuttered stemed from whatever Hunt did to disabled people from using filters, which caused something to mess up overall in geforce experience, thereby causing stutters.

Im bummed i cant record my epic plays anymore since i totally disabled it, but at least i can play the game now.

going to try turning it off. will report back

1) Switch to lightweight_profiler steam beta branch
2) Go into games, play normally
3) In case of stutter/rubberbanding during this game send them after the game ended:
- Steam\steamapps\common\Hunt Showdown\game.log
- Steam\steamapps\common\Hunt Showdown\user\telemetry

can also send it to me via discord <3

If it is running better without recording videos, you might have a slow hard drive or throughput. I recommend to run the game on a ssd und record videos to another ssd or hard drive (also the temporary folder for videos needs to be on another drive). Worth a try

I know that Nvidia Geforce experience eats up some of the system performance, and I also occasionally had stuttering on some videos. But I thought it was due to the problem of the hard drive, which had bad sectors, which I remap and reassigned. I decided that this is due to the fact that the hard drive is slowly dying and stuttering is associated with this. After turning on Nvidia, my friend began to see freezes of sound, but that was before the update, and he only has 8 GB of RAM (4 + 4, dual channel).

If you need recordings of your incredible kills, try lowering the recording quality and video bitrate. Do you have the game installed on the same disk where Nvidia records? If so, separate them. Use SSD if possible.

Update #2: After my last update, I palyed one full day of Hunt Stutter free. By all rights I was certain I fixed my problem. But the next day I logged in and its now back to stuttering, aka back to square one. Those commenting on recording affecting performance, I dont record all the time. If i make an epic play, I record just that segment of gameplay manually by pressing alt f10. And my most recent 700 hours of hunt issue-free was played using this method.

Edit: Also, that's seems a bit irrelevant now as well since i have totally disabled geforce experience and it didnt fix the issue. Well, apparently it did for one day but now its back to stuttering.

I only have 237G SSD and 1T HHD. I put my operating system on the SSD of course and im pretty sure it takes up the good majority of that space. Not sure if it would be a good idea to put a game in there. I think i have 74G free space in there right now. Yall think putting hunt in there would be okay?
