Performance on a GTX 970?
The store page says a GTX 970 is recommended but I have seen some people post that it runs like garbage. Just wanting some opinions before I decide to buy.

I have a GTX 970 (and 3.3GHz i5) and after pretty extensive testing the real culprit for tanking my FPS is the Lighting setting. I run everything on High, fullscreen, even Vsync on (frame rate cap feels uneven), AFx16, disabled in-game AA and use Nvidia FXAA instead, but turn Lighting down to Low, and I get a pretty solid 60FPS for the Training, Trials and Quick Play. I've not played a great deal of the full fat Bounty Hunt mode so can't vouch for that but this is a good base to work from with a minimal visual quality hit.

I used to run Hunt on an i7-7700 (if I recall correctly) and a GTX 770. It wasn't pretty, but it was quite playable.

ran it on a 970gtx for a while. Runs fine on low-med settings at 1080p 16/9. Had 60-90fps pretty stable.
However your graphics card is really not the most important thing in Hunt... You need a good CPU for Hunt way more than a good graphics card.

I never got a stable 60 with a 1060. So not sure how youre going to get that with the 970.

I think people are trying to get you to get into it so they have an easy target. lol.

I got a i7-2600 and gtx 970, game used to run at 50-60 fps stable but after some recent update (about a month or two ago) I keep getting 30fps all the time. It's really annoying and I stopped playing it after that.

Recommended for most games means at least medium settings at 60 fps.

Play RDR2 or Horizon Zero Dawn with a GTX 1060 then.

But to be serious for a moment, as reported, a GTX 1060, which is ~~10% faster than a GTX 970, achieves 70 fps on "medium" settings, which drop to sub-50 under certain lighting situations. A GTX 970 will therefore likely reach your desired 60 fps, but certainly not during nighttime with a boss being banished nearby, and no settings will change that.

Dude thats jargon and industry buzz talk. You cant say a gpu does this and that because a game needs CPU, MOBO,RAM, etc to work.

A 1060 will not run this game on medium at 60 fps. I have an i76700k, g1 sniper mobo, 1060, and no stable 60 fps. I hav eto turn everything to low and use single pass lighting and shadows.

I can use AA x1 or 2, but lets not pretend video card benchmarks mean anything.

Yeah, I played a bounty hunt last night with my tweaked settings (all High, lighting on Low) and it was a pretty uneven experience with FPS of around 40-50 so I've dropped most settings to Low or Medium now. The game still looks good, I've got to say, and the FPS holds a lot steadier now. More tweaking required though.

i76700k. I can get 60, just not at medium settings as someone above indicated was possible. I can get 60 on low using 1 pass lighting.

It doesnt matter I came back after a 3 month break to see how the game was doing and its still a headshot and hack fest. The game was amazing pre launch before the hacks started showing up ( which was about 1 month prior to full release ).

Just uninstalled.

I had a 970GTX with a 4820k and 16gb ram.

I played the game well enough for my first 1200 hours on all low settings with 40-50 FPS.

Then I upgraded to a brand new machine and it felt like I'd been playing with blinders and extra weights on.

I'd say save your money, then save some more and get a 2070 Super with an i9 CPU.

It's well worth the extra money.

Before i was playing this game with a 960 gtx on low without problem , so a 970 gtx must be enough

Out of curiosity what do you call a good CPU? My graphics card is a 980 Ti. My CPU on the other hand is a Core i7 920 from about a decade ago. This works perfectly.
