Ryzen 5 3600 + RX 5700 XT

I've a ryzen 5 3600 and i'm looking for a new gpu. Is anybody playing this setup @1080p?
Would love to play Hunt at ~140fps...

r5 3600 here, no problems at all. gpu doesnt matter as much with hunt.

GPU matters the most, depending on fps you want to have, my GPU is maxing out with 120 - 130 fps while CPU is somewhere at 70% to 70% with high fps. But its 6 core that i am using and surely quad core non HT CPUs would have trouble running high fps.

I run this setup. Perfromance wise it's _fine_ . But you won't get 140 FPS with that setup. Maybe sometimes on low but even then you'll dip to 80 FPS. What I found is, that maxing out everything and then putting object detail on low gives the best tradeoff between performance and eye candy. I think the r5 3600 is the limiting factor in Hunt. No problems in other games though (hello DX12/Vulkan)

On a side note: Consider going NVIDIA. I've had nothing but annoyances with the 5700xt. Drivers fail to update themselves, firefox crashes when playing back video. I wanted to record a few videos for you, but the radeon overlay flat out refused to record and then didn't even show up anymore. The sound of recordings is screwed up, too.

Whatever you do: DO NOT BUY THE STOCK RX5700XT. Against all warnings I made that mistake and it's so loud you constantly think someone is vacuuming in the next room. I ended up mounting an aftermarket cooler, which is a little less annoying but I kind of regret getting that card at all when a few buck more would have made a RTX2070.

Nvidia also does have fair share of problems, not necessarily with hunt, but with other games. I also seen a lot of fps drops back at December last year, since then i reinstalled windows and pushed RAM speed from 1800 MHz to 2170 MHz ( DDR3 ) and i am not sure which of these two helped me here, but i really don't see drops to 80 anymore. Almost always locked 101 very rarely drops to like 98, you should also run lighting quality on low, trust me that kills fps really bad.

Will try, thanks! Granted my old GTX980 was my first NV card, my sample size is rather small, but never had issues with that one. Guess you win some you lose some :D

The other day i tried this game with my old GTX 770, mostly low, but it still does 60 fps. Its not really peak smoothness in my opinion, but playable. I think you should lock fps wherever you see you can have constant fps, it would remove frame spiking as fps are jumping up and down, would generally give you smoother experience.

Wont this raise Input Lag?

No, don't Vsync or anything, just lock with riva server or even with in game max fps setting. Riva server usually is best for smooth frame time line.
