1. Thats not the question in this thread
2. Thats just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ without any proof, like always.
Back to the thread, at the moment there are no plans for new bosses I guess, but they work on a lot of other stuff. I'am sure there will be at least 1 more boss and probably 1 more map if they make enough money with the game to develop it further.
This has to happen. Either a tough marked one like the Meathead, or a Boss. This game needs a zombie gator.
they seem to exist in Louisiana so this could be the next logical step
In the beginning you could shoot him once and he run away for a new try. Now you need 2 shots. So he hits you much more often.
+ He does not get damage when his clones come out.
However I mostly do all bosses with axes and stuff cause its silent.
It actually isnt anymore and it seems Hunts project funding has clear limitations.
The game being released with about 1/3 missing tells a story of a problematic development, probably the game raked in less money than expected.
If they would unleash the games full potential there would and should be minibosses, more big bosses and subcontracts (secondary objectives, for example like cleaning a complete compound of all monsters or killing said miniboss).
They didnt and there have been a lot of really cool suggestions from the community already, believe me, you arent the first coming up with the stuff i read here.
Such as a miniboss roaming the map instead of being located somewhere, but could be attracted by a certain mechanic (like a Werewolf on night maps acting like a Hellhound but moving on a certain route, can be attracted by noise much further than any normal monster).
A waterroaming miniboss being attracted from much further aswell.
Or a miniboss being invisible and only located in areas that are dark /cellars, graves etc), becoming visible when you use a lightsource (giving the electric lamp a new purpose).
I have seen many more, from a Wendigo in the woods and swamp areas (somewhat similar to the Werewolf just for day maps) to Witches or Occultists performing rituals and summoning new grunts/ reviving those that are there, Banshees or Swamp/Watermonsters.
There are tons of possibilities, just watch Penny Dreadful and you find enough potential content for years to come, and actually if you dig up the old Hunt Trailer (had a different name back then) you could see some of those things.
It doesnt matter though.
It seems to take too much work to add those creatures and probably a problem especially with minibosses is that they cant or shouldnt be bound to the games locations such as the big bosses and thus need a proper AI, which the game currently doesnt have, which means its a lot more work to implement as they had to program an AI from scratch to work properly.
And external big Boss Monsters actually cant happen, as the game isnt balanced around open boss fights.
Meaning you cant just place a waterboss outside in the water, as that wouldnt work in correlation with the games other mechanics and just cause more problems (people doing the boss while others wait further away with sniperrifles just stealing it with a final shot is only one example).
I assume that at one point there will be another big boss that works the same way as all the others we currently have.
What i really wished is that Crytek stepped out of their comfort zone and went full steam ahead with new minibosses.
As strong as a meathead, giving less of a reward, being fancier (not just zombies but monsters like the above mentioned ones), located outside of compounds and moving around by themselves.
They would be incredibly helpful especially for new players, as you could find and hunt them instead of the main objective, do them faster and yet be rewarded.
And for veterans there would be more threats to not make it a cakewalk.
At first though, they have to do a lot more and get the features in the game should have already.
Like crafting, charms as weapon attachements, unique weapons/weaponmodels and most importantly, dual wielding.
It seems like a natural fit to me. Maybe a big gator, witch, or other creature not QUITE deadly enough to be a boss but more threatening than normal monsters could net a few bucks for killing them.
You wouldn't even need the token either, so long as you damaged it for 75% of its health or did the most damage to it between two groups.
It could just need you to interact with something afterwards.
Like you gun it down and you can collect a separate clue from it. That clue acts like the tokens only that no one sees it. (Only two tokens).
That keeps the competition for it up while not having arbitrary thresholds.
Comes with a few problems. Like map size, too small to host several of these things and reduce the danger of being caught mid fight, the game isnt balanced around open field fights and you cant lock it to a specific location. Yet i would like to have them.
Yeah, that's why I'd say miniboss.
I get your point though. I'd be interested to see if something like this could be integrated in a fun and fair way
