Hunt: Showdown 1896

Server instability and hackers are killing this game
I like the game overall. It's a fun concept. It has an interesting take on Battle Royal, PvE and PvP. The era theme is cool too.

Anyway, all that is irrelevant if you don't have stable servers. I keep dying cause of some lag spikes, hit not registering, or I just disconnect. At least they fixed the fact that when you disconnect, you don't lose your hunter... which happened to me way too often. But the lag and instability is really starting to get on my nerves.

And although they boast their anti-cheat system, of all the online shooters I play, this one is the only one where I have witnesses clear cheaters. I am not the greatest player ever, far from it. And yes, there are occasions where I find people to be too good to not be cheaters, but I just swallow the pill, knowing I'm not that great.

But jesus... In Hunt, you'll see ONE GUY headshotting an entire 3 men team through walls. Or, you'll see another guy, managing 3 headshots as performing a 360 degrees turn, all that within 2 seconds.

Again, you'll see cheaters in every game, on rare occasions. But in Hunt, it seems to be a lot more common. I'm not saying I see a cheater every 4 games either. However it's the only game where I can say with certainty that, in a few weeks, I have clearly seen at least 3 hackers. Haven't seen that many in a short period in PUGB (just saw 1 hacker in a full year of gaming), Apex (saw no hackers there yet), R6 (saw one in 3 years), etc.

It's kinda disappointing, cause I believe Hunt brings a refreshing take on the Battle Royal genre.

I can give you direct links to R6 hacks as that game is hacked well above this game and a lot of other games. Pubg hacks are expensive but have been around a long time and Apex has hacks as well. Hunt showdown only seem to have private hacks and even then it's a limited number of people hacking compared to the games you mentioned. I'll watch a low tier streamer and he'll hit shots from 50 meters a way while a player is moving behind trees or past a windows which is a brief time they can be seen and will hit them with ease. This dude i watched yesterday only missed 3 shots in the first 6 games i watched an averaged 3-4 kills as a solo and i couldn't believe it. Hit with a mosin and then immediately pulls out pistol and finishes them in less than 2 seconds. A lot of people are just that good at the game or can hit these lucky/crazy shots. This game does have hackers but it's far less than what i've encountered on other games by a large majority. There's also a lot of "fake" website promoting hacks for this game that only stay undetected for maybe an hour before they get shutdown because they just want money. The first website that pops up when you search for hacks is total BS. I've seen a lot of people post about hackers like this and have no proof of anything to suggest otherwise. Normally when i read forums of games where hackers get talked about almost daily i'll believe there's a bunch of hacking going on but this game is far too easy to be considered hacking when it's most likely not hacking. There's a lot of server issues and ping and horrible optimizations/ping issues that cause a lot of these weird "what the f*ck" moments that can be seen as hacking but in reality it's just this game is horrible when it comes to performance and servers that cause a lot of issues especially with textures not loading from distances.

How do you clearly see cheaters headshotting 3 men through walls in this game?

If the cheating is really that bad, it shouldn't be hard to provide some video evidence of suspicious activity.

One more post full of lies about cheaters ....

I understand, you died, you feel bad, you think it wasn't legit etc ... but man you are just trash. Practice and stop crying about cheaters.

Server stability, sure, but cheaters are hard to talk about without any video of it.
We know cheaters exist but they are way less common than people in the game make it out to be, a lot of the stuff if someone has posted evidence could have been explained on either server issue, bug, or just missing the shot, etc.

That's why these days if you got Nvidia GPU, just setup shadowplay, it's like the best thing ever, you can set it up to be constantly on with 0 performance impact (or like 5FPS in some games), and with a press of a button you can record the last 3 minutes what happened, or 1 minute, how ever you set it up, so you can save all those good gaming moments if you make a really cool play in a game, or in this case if there was a cheater you have some footage of it.

I don't typically record my games, but I can if that's what is needed. However, I thought it was highly frowned upon to expose someone directly on the forums? And also, hard to really prove my point since the game doesn't have any kill cam.

Anywho... I thought it was clear I was not talking about legit skilled players. Again, to repeat myself, I have witnessed my fare share of quality kills. I have been headshotted through a wall and I knew it was just a clean good shot. Didn't write a post about it.

What I am talking about is the few occasions where what happened is just inhuman. I think we can all agree that headshots through a wall, if you know the person is hiding there, is probably 80% skills 20% luck (you aim knowing its head should be around there, but can't be certain, hence the luck factor).

Now, if you have 3 players of same team hiding in separate buildings, waiting for someone to come. Said player arrives and headshots all 3, not knowing they are there, all through the wall. All 3 shots fired within the same 20 seconds. It is just impossible to do.

And it's quite easy to know when it happens when all 3 players are on Discord and all confirm they have been headshotted, through a wall, by the same player.

Don't tell me about "I saw a Streamer not missing a single shot in his game". This is not hacking. It's just being good. This isn't an argument against my point.

Saying good players exist is in no way a demonstration that hackers are not there. We all know they exist anyway. And maybe I was not lucky or something, but Hunt is the game where I saw the most blatent demonstrations of hackers.

It's true I have no proof at the moment. I don't know why I'd waste my time here inventing a story of how 1 guy shot my whole team in 20 second without technically knowing we were there.... I guess I'm a pathological liar.

I have only encountered one cheater so far, but the lag on shots is delayed sometimes. I have 20-29 ping and someone takes a shot at me i die but on their i die instant and on mine i can still move for a solid 2 seconds then i'll just drop dead.

600 hours and there has only been 1 suspicious death of my partner and I.

Hacking is not rampant in this game. The gun play mixed with the pace of the game make it extremely easy to one-shot people as the entire point of this game is to only take a shot if it’s going to be a kill shot, as making any noise is a death sentence.

I make kills literally every single day that we play that make me say “wow yeah that guys going to report me as a hacker”. It’s just the frustration of not hearing or understanding that somebody could do that to you.

Definitely strange things in game. Yesterday I couldn't even get a chance to shoot without getting killed first. US east was nuts yesterday. I am fairly decent at the game. Not an expert, by no means, but decent. Get a kill in every game.
Anyway, had to leave that server. Went to US west. All of a sudden I had a complete change of game play.
Maybe the lag or whatever on the "east" sever caused my issue, but was really annoying.
Had a blast on the west though 😁
Us east is my normal server. Ping around 10-20 mostly.
West gave me around 30.

You are right. Was on US east yesterday and it was horrible. Rubber banding, lag, freezing in place, disconnecting, etc.

Ping was 20. I haven't tried West servers yesterday, but I assume the game often puts me on one, cause I often have a ping of 110. And a bit like you, I noted that I systematically have better games on west servers with my higher ping

Some of the better FPS players can do seemingly inhuman things. These people are not always well known streamers or pros, just random guys that are really really good.

Again, if you're seeing so many crazy things, then record 5-10 games and let the people figure out if it was fishy or not.

You can post videos and edit out the person's name...
QuaaK..! Sep 14, 2019 @ 9:13am
the usual "git gud" crowd who denies there are a bunch of cheaters in this trash game.
take a look at the leaderboards, go check the first 90 ppl on there.
go check their steam profiles and you can be assured almost all of them have 1 or multiple vac bans on record.

pc gaming is dead, this cancerous trash has ruined everything
