IF you can hit your shots.
The only problem is that people running over horizon are mostly unkillable since their body consists 90% of hands and legs at that point xD
Also aiming at torso means you can hit their arms holding a gun which funnily doesn't do almost anything. But it would be the if you hit them there with Lebel or Mosin. It's just silly yet intentional design.
Actually all big crossbows are all pretty good but shotbolt is by far the strongest since its projectile doesn't fall off as much and it deals massive damage over long distance of you can land it.
