Weapon Progress Lost upon Prestige

Is this intentional?

I prestige and lose all progress in the book of weapons. I was under the impression I'd keep all the progress from the Book of Weapons and the weapons would simply have a level restriction on them like before. This is just annoying.

Yes this is normal. You keep your weapon mastery points but need to unlock the weapons again.

Nobody forces you to Prestige ZAToM - so basically if you find that it is insulting or whatever, you are doing this to yourself by pressing the Prestige Button ;)

I only prestiged once since 1.0 and I'm not planning to do it again. But its like if I complain about a specific weapon and you tell me not to use it.
Its game content if I ignore it I have less game and that makes the game even worse

And besides that every ♥♥♥♥♥ indi game found a way to relvl ng+ or whatever in a more or less respectful way for the player. You play to unlock and just when you unlocked the last item to can reset it all! What a punishment for playing. Then they say they gon make it more rewarding and add weapon unlocks which is even more aids and cancer.

It is insulting even without pressing the prestige button. Just the knowledge that such a disrespectful mechanic is implemented is insulting

I do prestige every few days now, and i do not have a problem at all doing the weapons over and over again, since it is my own choice to do so and therefor keep the game interesting for me. As i said no one is forced, and prestige should be earned, else it would be pointless.

And i dont really get how you use the word insult. An insult would be to get slapped to the facefor no reason (altough a lot of people may have well deserved it and just did not understand why). If you slap yourself, thats not an insult, thats a choice.

Hey that's nice for you but I don't understand how you can say it keeps the game interesting. What additional options does prestige give you? Afaik nothing it just limits your options. So you are not making the game more interesting by prestiging, you make the game more dull by never use a win field with high rank, but guess what, that's your choice.
And if someone slaps your face thats not an insult, that's a physical attack, but makes sense if you think physical attacks are insults, it's not a too far stretch to think insults are making things interesting I guess ;)

I play path of exile hardcore mode that is stupid and masochistic. Maybe you have a similiar thing going on with prestige. But I would never say playing path of exile hardcore is a good choice. Its a bad one but I do it for a couple of reasons. It is OK if you prestige but don't lie about its keeps the game interesting, that's some high level shilling

It keeps it interesting that way - that i force myself going through all of the weapons and unlocks again, therefor making it harder then just having everything i want at hands. I see it as a challenge - and exactly that should a prestige in my oppinion be.

cod was using that presitge system for years before it became a battlepass simulator. all you got in cod was an extra slot. lol. prestige is a braggin right. not to make you more op leet... compairing a shooter to a arpg is a bad combo.. most players farm level 100 till they have a huge amount of game dollars THAN they prestiege and again only do so because they have nothing else to grind. and want to reprogress.

As I said, it doesn't give you any other possibilities. It's the same challenge as if you would take the low ranked weapons with high rank. It's your choice. You could have the same challenge or even harder without prestige. I don't think it's fair to say prestige makes it more interesting, you are using prestige to make it more interesting for yourself (because you can't / don't want to use low rank weapons on high rank)

No. I prestiged 5 times pre 1.0 and they said they gonna make it more rewarding but in reality if I prestige now I dont have just to Grind lvls but unlock all weapons too
I don't want to become op. But I don't want a mechanic to be wasted like that

again most people have farmed so much by that point it doesnt matter as NOTHING has value anymore.

why should you go into the next prestige with a fat stack to pretty much destory the level process of what you can obtain via the market. at that rate you would prestige 3x fater on your second go around as you would able to exploit spam buy the marketplace items and super level things faster than you would normally.. why is that even a though? of course they would remove everything why would they not.

Gotta side with TAsme here, a slap to the face is, at least in the Western culture, a sign of disrespect and an implied insult as such, it being a physical attack does not mean it is not also an insult.

It is literally like someone pointing at a knife and saying "hey look, there´s a tool we might use here" and you smirking, calling them an idiot and replying that it is in fact a weapon, not a tool (despite a knife being clearly both), and then go on to use their "stupidity" to back your claim about how you were right in that other argument over cleaning utensils you had a month ago.
