in my expirience people dont rly run instantly anymore but they will when an exit is right next to them cant rly blame them becuase at that point there isnt a reason to stay and fight other than stealing better guns

on a semi related note this game becomes less scary when you dont focus on the bosses and just kill the regular mobs
ive enjoyed this game way more if im just killing regular mobs

Perfectly fair, but to be honest, I'm the opposite, I only feel satisfied when I make a concerted effort to get both bounties unless I'm forced onto the backfoot.

I just want PvP gun fights, then the boss.

Everyone and their Play style maybe some of them are low on cash or some of them enjoy the thrill of escaping , i my self prefer to stay and fight or reach the second bounty, only extract when i or my partner died to many times and low on hp which is rare after killing a boss anyhow let people enjoy the game as they want

I find that the majority of players won't try to push the boss location and will just hold angles. If that's the case and they are just camping outside, I'll usually just try to dip out and run away, I usually get far enough before they've realized that I can just extract. Both tactics are pretty cowardly, but I'm not gonna put myself at a disadvantage after I've already killed the boss, push the boss compound or stop crying about people running away.

100% Solo here. You bet your buttocks as soon as I have the bounty I'm running.

I understand what you mean though. But people have already mentioned the main reasons. It's the risk vs reward. If given the option most people will take the easier choice.

If they've already been involved in PvP - - It's a stressful game, maybe they've had enough for that round.

The objective is to get the bounty. It makes sense to GTFO once you get the bounty so it sounds like you might play it a bit differently than the game incentivizes. But here's the beautiful part of games in general: we all get to play however we want, so I'm glad you find more enjoyment in sticking around and fighting.

Edit: I guess I should specify my enjoyment a bit more to better answer your post. I enjoy sneaking around and taking out teams under the radar (I play solo). It's the stealth I love. Once I got that bounty there's none of that happening and going up against a team with my location marked isn't really my definition of fun.

risk vs. the rewards. There are common reasons why players run away immediately once they got the bounty but all in all it's due to fear; the fear of losing good loadout; yikes, until now most players still have this fear and it's reasonable. If you're not that confident that you can atleast put up a fight with other enemies, why risk of losing money AND good weapons? the fear of the unkown; the fear of not knowing how many enemies are there on the server, not knowing what kind of weapon they use (altho u can recognize it by gunshots), not knowing if there are nearby hunters prowling waiting for a kill and not knowing if you can make it back alive safe and sound. It's fear itself that makes the game oh so good and satisfying but it's fear itself that makes other players uneasy and just decides to run away. We can't really blame them for running away, i mean there's no rule or violation that once u get the bounty u cant extract yet.

There are dozens of reasons, enough that every team you see running away in a day could be running out for a different one. They ran out of healing items, they are missing a health chunk even after banish, they have bomblance and no dead Hunter at the lair to swap weapons with, they are missing only this extraction to get the 5th lvl50 Hunter. Or just simply, they gotta finish the game and do something else.

If I am solo and I have a low level Hunter I run asap, so I can get some of the sweet traits that I like. While at other times I go and Hunt down cowards while holding the bounty. You would be surprised how often there is a cowardly solo sitting around, hoping that someone will just leave a bounty on the ground for some reason.

I'm with bro just doing game goal: kill boss, take bounty and extract. This is the meaning of game in terms of victory condition. All yammering about PvP just for kids.
