What are Tier 3 Hunters for?
You pay 1000 to get a Winfield Marksman and some useless consumables? I mean come on...

You don't pay $1000 for a T3 hunter with Winfield, unless they are carrying a Dolch, too.
You can easily get T3 hunters for under $500, as long as they aren't carrying expensive weapons.

They look cool and can come with good traits and gear

They have smaller ♥♥♥♥♥ and darker camo so they are harder to spot
Harder to spot, better weapons, and the best part of buying an expensive hunter is the traits.

The main differences are how they look, and how many Perks and Consumables they start with. Everything else can vary, which will effect the cost. I've had rolls where my Tier 3 Hunters are cheaper than my Tier 2s.

Honestly I don't think the look has any effect. Usually me or my mates spot people from movement, the colour of the clothes only comes down to followup callouts so we know which player died and if we need to follow up.

To actually answer the question, tier 3's while they usually do start with a pretty good gun atleast, you're typically buying them for the good starting perks like fanning.

Of course. Actual camouflage in this game is over rated. I was just talking about the literal look of the Hunter. Tier one's look like they just walked off the farm, while Tier 3 are whicked looking gunslingers.

Yeah sorry for sounding confrontational, just kinda saw a bunch of posts talking about clothing. And yeah I agree the farmhand look is like 70% of all players.

They have alluded to adding a system where you can change your hunters look though. Not sure when or if it will be a mix match thing. For example your head, torso and legs being different regions you can change before getting into match.
