Does Hunt Showdown diable discord?

Hi!

Weird question is Hunt disabling Discord for players quing together to make them not have an "advantage" because it honestly feels like that. Me and my friend plays this game a lot but everytime we hop into a game our discord starts bugging out and we cant talk to eachother, forcing us to use ingame chat and that way other people hear us talking too. And it's only in the game. In the menu it works perfectly and right when we die we can hear eachother again, but never while playing.

Super annoying anybody knows a fix?

Yes. It is true, actually. Hunt's code has recently been modified to disrupt Discord channels. It has come into effect at 1.1's release, and it hasn't gone away since. The patchnotes make no mention of this, but it does seem as if the Devs have tried to partner up with Teamspeak. If you look closely at the game's launch screen, there's a small Teamspeak logo among the other usual ones. You can't miss it. So yeah, my own experience tells me that Crytek undoubtedly has an anti-Discord agenda atm. The only "fix" is to switch over to Teamspeak, at least for the time being. Unless you wanna' use Skype, of course. Good luck.

Then it's just a matter of time. Same as the other recent issues. Not everyone has been getting random disconnects, zero post-match rewards and/or purple textures - but eventually we all experience these issues to an extent. The buggy Discord thing is just around the corner for most players. The more players that Teamspeak identifies as Hunt: Showdown players, the better for Crytek profit-wise. That's why they're doing this. They're not even hiding it anymore. There's literally a Teamspeak logo at the opening loading screen once you launch the game. Try it a few times if it doesn't show up immediately. Anyway, hope your Discord will stay good. Cuz' mine sure hasn't when I'm playing Hunt (and only when I'm playing Hunt).

We manage to solve this an hour ago by going into a call after the game had started, maybe we just got lucky that time

Uhhhh 100% NOT TRUE.

Hunt + Discord is like peanut butter and jelly. You don't need to put them together, but it always tastes better when you do.

Not to mention there isn't a way to code a discord interrupter into your game....that's just absurdity.

I'm happy for you that you're among the lucky ones. Check Reddit aswell. Many hunters complaining of this Discord-related issue. Hunt cannot disrupt anything within Discord LOL. YOU might have a CPU usage issue because Hunt is a CPU hog but that'd be about it. There is no "code" designed to disrupt anything.

You seem to be under the impression that somehow the game code has been altered to mess with discord.

Aside from the fact this is not possible, it's just one of the more absurd conspiracy theories I've heard.

The main Hunt Discord channel is where hunters are ENCOURAGED BY THE DEVS to join up with other players.

Well guess what. Just because a group of you have an issue, doesn't mean that EVERYONE has that issue. Since the people experiencing this are a minority, it's more likely it has to do with your setup than anything else.

To accuse the developers of somehow coding in something that would disrupt discord is just plain wrong.

You problem is probably Hunt hogging all your CPU and Discord lagging because it doesn't have the juice to work. You could try to give higher priority in the task manager and see if it helps.

Why would I research something that doesn't affect me? DO you enjoy exercises in futility?

Has anyone tried anything more then setting the higher priority? my friend has the same problem and setting priority higher only made it bit better but its still lagging as hell.

What you mean by lagging?

You talking about the game stuttering constantly?

If so the game has a memory leaks (which Devs said is about to be fixed). As a temporary solution have your friend reboot and it clears it up for a while. I reboot before launching Hunt currently because of this.
