its an artificial way to keep you in the game and simulate content.
The game lacks content, thus they needed an unlocking system to keep people at it.
In short, the game lacks real content so it received a psychological feature to stretch the stuff it has in the length.
Be happy to unlock everything through grinding exp again each time you prestige and be happy to not receive anything for going prestige anyway.
It was meant to be different originally. Because once they had a good roadmap there were features to come with 1.0 that the game never received.
With those features they promised but never provided, this system would have made sense. Without it, it doesnt and just appears to be a standard free to play grind shooter with premium currencies, microtransactions and exp grind.
tbh i honestly feel insulted by that weapon unlock system in combination with prestige
i cant think of any other game that punishes you for playing like that without ANY reward (i dont care about stupid skins)
Nobody asked for this, nobody wanted this, and yet here we are.
This is what you get from B-team, because A-team is long gone.
Since a few of these features that are crucial for it to work properly got just scrapped (or postponed but honestly i dont give a damn it should already be in the game), this system feels out of place and stupid. Well, deal with it, thats how it is.
Book of monsters even worse.
All this grind kills prestige mechanics.
Or pay 50€ for about half of them.
100% this
thanks for nothing crytek
Example: In order to unlock the STANDARD full size crossbow you have to first gain EXP with the hand crossbow....all fine on paper apart from the fact the hand crossbow is just horrid to use. RIP crossbow, you were fun pre- 1.0.
For example you have to go through several crossbow unlocks before you get the big one, they should be separated between hand and large ones.
Same with shotguns or the uppercut.
The Uppercut belongs into a completely different category than the other caldwell guns. Mostly because its used for a totally different purpose than the others. It makes no sense to go through a set of small calibre pistols to get a revolver that is used for a totally different setup.
And as said, the worst is the standard stuff unlocks.
Why do i have to spam dozens upon dozens of vital shots until i get to the buff shots?
This also means that people further ahead have access to objectively better tools than people on lower bloodrank. While you can just equip a big vital shot i have to go through the unlocks first.
I also have to throw decoys around for no other purpose than reaching the next step and gain access to gadgets that are vital for many setups.
Its stupid.
The specializations are fine. The more i use a gun the more experience i get with it and the more bonds i get.
But if they had actually clever designers in their team they would have realized already, that it would make more sense to link the weapon progression to the weapon skins.
Play a lot with Sparks and you get a SParks skin. Play even more and reach higher specalization ranks with it and your skin gets even more nice details.
Oh good ol´Hunt where are you XD
No one ever gets forced to prestige in this game.
So if you do prestige it is your choice to do the grind. So plz explain why anyone would complain about his own choosen path?
And yes prestige is kind of adding difficulty to the game (choosen by yourself just to mention), because you need to do the grind in order to unlock the stronger weapons again.
