You didn't seem to read what I wrote. I'm talking about when a poison bomb is thrown on a downed teammate.
That teammate can't be picked up safely because they will die instantly to poison.
I'm not 100% sure if antidote shots are still effective after death, but even if they were, it would mean that both players had to take a full antidote shot.
That is just an incredibly unlikely scenario when playing with randoms.
I died and one of the few times I played with a partner, he raised me and we were in Spider Lair and it bit me, no poison.
But like I said, that means that BOTH players would have to have an antidote shot. One to stand there and pick the guy up, and the other to survive it.
Players shouldn't be forced to take a specific item just to counter a bad mechanic.
To be clear, I have no problem with the way it functions, it's just that there isn't ANYTHING else in the game that has an area effect that lasts for 5 minutes.
I don't think anything even lasts 1 minute (yes fire lasts on a player, but the ground effect doesn't last very long), which is why I'm a little boggled that they went with a 5 minute duration on the poison bomb. It just seems excessive.
3 minutes should be more than enough time.

No one like this and some players get poison bomb instead of firebom. You can say that downed hunters gets penalty to get up xD.
I think it's good. If you manage to shoot all enemy hunters in 10 second and have to wait - ofc it's boring to you but if you don't - then you can be glad you can bring your friend up after fight. Otherwise it would we burned to coal.
Take this as penalty - not extermination. I like poison instead of firebomb.
Take a look from this point. Antidote is useless, becouse downed can't use it when is revived (not enought time). Consider take "reviver" perk (or it's called otherwise - you get up with up to 100HP - or something like that).
