Poison Bomb
Let's talk about this item for a moment.

It's a very situational item, and I'm sure it's not as popular as grenades or dynamite, but at the same time, it's power on a downed player is simply too much.

Even before the choke bomb, when a teammate was burning you could still put them out or go for the full revive, even in the middle of a firefight.

With the poison bomb, even if you wipe out the enemy team instantly, your teammate is on the ground for a full 5 minutes.

This is a little broken. 5 minutes is a VERY long time in video games, and especially this game.

If there was some sort of counterplay, like an antidote shot that lasted after death, then it wouldn't be so bad.

As it is now, if there's a poison bomb on your buddy, you're just stuck there for 5 minutes no matter what happens. This is boring and and bad design.

3 minutes would be plenty of time for the poisoning team to re-position and try to get a shot on the remaining player(s) or do whatever it is they need to do.

5 minutes just seems incredibly excessive without any way to counter it.

I like to use poison on a boss so the 5 minutes works for that.

There is a way to counter it. Use a antidote shot....

You didn't seem to read what I wrote. I'm talking about when a poison bomb is thrown on a downed teammate.

That teammate can't be picked up safely because they will die instantly to poison.

I'm not 100% sure if antidote shots are still effective after death, but even if they were, it would mean that both players had to take a full antidote shot.

That is just an incredibly unlikely scenario when playing with randoms.

interesting, surprised I never thought of this. I mean, at least your friend doesn't die from the poison unless you rez em. I guess it would just be a patience game

Sure they won't die, but if you wipe out the enemy team, you shouldn't be punished for your efforts with a 5 minute timer that prevents you from picking up your teammate.

as a solo player .. and avid user of poison bombs .. I like that it lasts for as long as it does .. it's fine how it is. When I get downed .. I don't get back up again .. even after 5 minutes :steamhappy:

Antidote shots do work after being raised from death. I can confirm this as I always take a Antidote shot that last 60 minutes and use it at the start of every match.

I died and one of the few times I played with a partner, he raised me and we were in Spider Lair and it bit me, no poison.

its cancer, the poison cloud should go away if a trio or duo is downed! You have to wait forever to revive your downed partner. I clutched a fight against a duo and couldnt revive my teammate since he had cloud on his body. Obviously another team came and killed me cause we had the banish but that entire time i had to wait for the cloud to go away. they really need to be fixed.

Well that certainly is good information. I've never been in that situation so I wasn't entirely sure if that was a thing.

But like I said, that means that BOTH players would have to have an antidote shot. One to stand there and pick the guy up, and the other to survive it.

Players shouldn't be forced to take a specific item just to counter a bad mechanic.

To be clear, I have no problem with the way it functions, it's just that there isn't ANYTHING else in the game that has an area effect that lasts for 5 minutes.

I don't think anything even lasts 1 minute (yes fire lasts on a player, but the ground effect doesn't last very long), which is why I'm a little boggled that they went with a 5 minute duration on the poison bomb. It just seems excessive.

3 minutes should be more than enough time.

Oh ya I guess I didn’t think of that. Hmm good point. Forgot about the downed partner aspect.

So basically to all people who are talking about antidote, when you reset prestige it is not opened.

Poison bomb is same strategy as firebomb... With one little except. Some players get burning downed foes as fight with chicken. You know this, you get shot from nowhere (camper in bushes with no chance to see or hear) and instant firebomb... (ofc single players have to do that - but...).

No one like this and some players get poison bomb instead of firebom. You can say that downed hunters gets penalty to get up xD.
I think it's good. If you manage to shoot all enemy hunters in 10 second and have to wait - ofc it's boring to you but if you don't - then you can be glad you can bring your friend up after fight. Otherwise it would we burned to coal.
Take this as penalty - not extermination. I like poison instead of firebomb.
Take a look from this point. Antidote is useless, becouse downed can't use it when is revived (not enought time). Consider take "reviver" perk (or it's called otherwise - you get up with up to 100HP - or something like that).
