How do I get a chain pistol?

So I was looking at the unlock sequence and there is no chain pistol, and several other weapons are not listed. In the store, it simply shows a book with a lock on it... how or when does the chain pistol and other weapons get unlocked?

You need to get kills with a regular Caldwell Pistol and then you should gradually unlock the Chain one

Really? God thats the dumbest ♥♥♥♥ ever... another play from cod/ battlefield. Use crap you have no interest in using in order to unlock something you want. Its like hey buy our game, we will make you NOT enjoy it anymore in order to play it...

You just need exp with the normal caldwell or any other caldwell version (or other weapons in their cases) as long as u've unlocked the normal version (first weapons like mosin, caldwell and so on), u dont have to kill other players.

Everybody hates the unlocking system haha, but I doubt crytek is gonna change it. At first you had to change your playstyle because unlocks required you to kill and basically farm certain types of AI. This is better but still nowhere near fine. The simple ranking system they had first was hella good

It has advantages and disadvantages. You can unlock some things very fast if your dedicated. The choice is yours. Then again people like having stuff handed to them I guess. I feel you I want my barb wire bomb but I haven’t used enough trip barb wire traps. Same for dynamite too.

i find it's both annoying and useful, for example if i want to unlock a certain thing within the book of weapons i can focus on that and unlock it without a ton of effort in most cases. Which is kindof nice rather than having to wait for the bloodline to unlock everything all the time

downside being the forced use of things you don't want to be using in order to unlock something.

The thing that pisses me off most about this, is these changes were just thrown in last minute. I feel like what the hell was the point of a year of early release if they are just gonna pull the rug out from under us and basically redo the whole game and not really listen to any feedback when they do so?
