every match is 12 players. It doesnt matter what team size you queue for, its 12. You could be a trio and have 2 duos, 2 solos and 1 other trio.

the teams are not predetermined, but the fact that there are 12 players in a match is.

It's not always exactly 12 players it can be lower but 12 is the maximum. It's dependent on the time and users online. The game will try to get 12 but if it can't fill up the slots it should be what is in the queue at that moment.
