NEED HELP WITH IMRIK KNIGHT OF CALEDOR
I am playing as Imrik, i have 3 province, caledor, plain of bones, and south isle

problem is, Grimgor is too strong at this point
He got all the dwarves, lizardmen and prince border cities.

i have tried multiple scenario like sniping black crag and messing around to get money but always ended up where the initial provinces got overrun.
i cant make enough money to afford enough army to counter him.

any help or advice is welcome or just start again ?

Here is simple guide. HE army can easily crush any other army with just basic archers, especially if you focus your heroes on them a bit. And army of them is very cheap. If you have 2 full provinces and have some economics on them and trades, you can easily support 2 full armies of archers. Killing enemy with them is very easy. Add pair of bolt trowers and you can kill enemies in the cities too without any casualties.
you get your money from sacking and the dragon isles.

you should kill snitch first then darkblade. also you can give dragon princes the horse units like 85% pyshical resistance so they sit there face tanking like a lord with all the buffs.

the most ideal case is to go snitch darkblade then south to krogar and then shoot back up before you fight the orcs. it largely means you ignore the dwarves above you and peace out with them.

its like how when playing the empire if you go after mareinberg you get norsca attacking you early when you need to deal with the vampire counts. the skaven actually cant attack you if you fortify with garrisons and a single army for the most part

2 things to note. they will try to run to pig barter snitches province if you fortify it right in imirks starting province. the second is you need to plane an arty heavy army that can smoke the orcs who will face plant on the top corner.

the reason you go south and i suspect your biggest problem is you are "stuck" the way you get ways out is queeks starting spot and the break in the moutians north of it. they way you beat orcs is by sacking them down into weak units and just not rebuilding.

also waaaaagghh reduce campgain map move range so you can always out run them its better to take 2 turns of forced march attrition then get caught since youll get healing when you sack and occupy a settlement.

if you ever have problems with the ai never defending itself its because it is by throwing wave after wave of trash after you, you break it by raiding and sacking them until they split the army to attack you.

the two hardest parts of imirk is learning how to win the dragon fights and being aggressive enough to not be stuck.
youll know the orcs broke because youll recuit an army and nothing is there to stop you from pushing in from the top where they came from to attack your starting province.

Thanks bro
I have no problems with skavens. They r all gone. Problem is Grimgor is surrounding me from north and west. Last defenders is down to 2 settlements from grimgor.

My Imrik can kill anything with minimum casualty. But this Grimgor got 50+ settlements already at turn 70+. I can't afford big armies yet

im saying if your turn 50+ which you are and you dont have krogar dead to the south or queek dead agian to the south your probably better restarting unless you can get 1 army to sack grimgore into the ground. by around turn 30 give or take 5 you should have malus dark blade dead.

the ship wrecks you get while doing that and going south are like 2k-20k pending on what you get. if you can kill the lizardmen you can kill grimgore.
my current playthrough its like the 4th or 5th imrik i was trying something new on normal and i fumbled it hard until turn 50 i quadrupled in size from turn 50-100 7 lords recruited 7 lords lost 6 current armies desert is split between me thorgrim and bretonnia im moving on lustria as imrik does side quests and i did as discribed despite the fumbling. i would love to know how it took me 30 turns to kill snitch when it should take 20 tops.

i can do screen shots in very hard if you need but it will be like a month before i can get to it i wont even be home for a week coming up.

edit in i stopped at turn 175 because it was the campaign victory when i end the turn. i was probably farming the sack for money trait until turn 50 on snitch and darkblade.

There is no cheap way to deal with orctide. Just grind them down one after another. Destroy settlements, if it necessary to avoid needs for their defence. Dwarfs, if they are not completely gone, will take their time and kick grimgor back, like on turn 100+. On my campaign I let my nearby dwarfs live, so they effectively resisted orcs in the north (yes, it took some time and influence, after I kicked dwarfs when they betrayed me, but it worth it).

As for the army- it is the same archer build. Just let Imrik kill the main army and leave minor armies for your other heroes. Also what is your situation on Ulthuan? You can confederate HE there and forget about grimgor, if he annoys you that much.

i have caledor province but Tyrion already confederate the other HE

right now Reikland and Grimgor have the same strength, but the empire still have ongoing chaos invasion. i will push my influence to get Karl attack grimgor

update : i have succesfully defeated their initial attack including grimgor himself
Just sack and abandon his settlements, that's how I've beaten huge Grimgor as Vampire Counts. Sacking Black Crag is also a key, without means to recruit Arachnarocs and massed Big'Uns orks are beatable.

GJ on wining.

my generic army i use for helves tends to be
-2 dragon princes
-4 eagle claw bolt throwers
-pick a lord
-1 mage ussaly fire for dragon plus the weapon damage buff
-2 nobles <- i prefer horses they are anti large
fill out with seaguard (sheild) range/spear hybrids
