Sword of Khaine disappearance bug needs to be fixed
Whenever you change the Shrine of Khaine settlement's ownership, either by occupying it or razing it, the sword disappears from whoever has it.

Now obviously this should not happen and is illogical as well.

This is a problem for several reasons but the biggest is that now you don't have to defeat whoever has it, just capture the settlement.
As a player this is cancer, especially if you're a faction that's far away.

Also, it seems only High Elves or Dark Elves can build the actual shrine to obtain it.
If both of those races are destroyed, then the sword is lost and can not be obtained anymore. So you have to keep one of them alive, which is rediculous on so many levels.

Please fix this issue as soon as possible. :steamsad:

No.. there is another :steammocking:

They didn't fix it in the patch..

Worst is chaos. They can't even defend the settlement to prevent it changing hands. As others you can atleast do that.

Why can’t you defend the settlement as chaos? I like one man army campaigns and I’m doing one with Aranessa now where I’m just sitting off the coast with a doom stack and killing anything that gets near the shrine and my dark elf allies while aranessa runs all over the map. Seems like with chaos you would be enemies but you could keep someone trapped like Tyrion trapped in there and kill him if he tried to leave the settlement (his last) but you would also have to protect him if someone came after him.

The WE can claim it too. And it's not ridiculous, it's the sword of an elven god, so to claim it you have to be an elf.

It's not a problem of claiming it, the problem is that once you've claimed it you can't keep it if the settlement is razed or changes occupants. The sword shouldn't teleport back to the shrine just because someone else takes control over it, you should have to defeat the current owner of it to retrieve it.

I don't know the lore revolving around it but it's still a physical item, if the elves made a rite to magically bring it back then maybe, but that isn't the case.
Imagine lorewise that Malekith was holding the sword, then all of a sudden it just disappears from his hand, ending up far away at the shrine just because some random dude walked inside.

I am also having this problem, I don't think CA even knows about this bug...

I think it's been fixed. I just occupied the Shrine of Khaine as the Awakened, and it wasn't removed from Luthor Harkon.

Were you able to get it normally? I'm playing as Noctilus and my Admiral isn't getting it from beating it's owner, despite it having worked in a previous game.

The only way a non-elf can get the sword is by forcefully taking it from the previous owner so I would presume they managed to do exactly that seeing as Luthor Harkon (you know, the mad vampire captain?) had it.

Oh yeah I know, for some reason it wasn't unlocking for me after I beat the owner. After a dozen tries it finally worked so I guess the event might just be random chance or something.
