Total War: WARHAMMER II

Is Taurox the strongest lord now?
A completely leveled and geared Taurox can get to a bit over 850+ weapon strength, has regen, and in combat that skyrockets to almost 1k plus buffs. Is he the strongest lord now?

Worth noting in the pro-Taurox box, he can wield the Sword of Khaine permanently with no drawbacks because every penalty it has is something the Beastmen don't care about (as I recently lampooned in a dumb joke thread). Imrik can probably take Taurox normally, but I doubt he can take Taurox with a Sword of Khaine...

Imrik is strong, but the difference is, what he takes until maybe turn 50 to get to in strength, Taurox does by turn 12-13.

Imrik may win eventually on the power-curve, but with Taurox you've maybe won the game by turn 50.
Taurox is the strongest starter but what makes him that is his faction ability momentum, not himself. If we're talking "fully buffed" then it's Imrik with all the dragon traits unlocked and then his stats are just plain absurd, on top of being on a star dragon.
Imrik's dragon traits are also faction abilities though, those dilemas aren't given unless you start as him, so if you are ignoring momentum then you need to ignore the dragon traits.

I did some 1vs1 battles with Taurox and he lost against
Vlad
Durthu
Malus
Grimgore
Karl Franz
Krog-Gar
Grombrindal
Noctilus
Throgg
Sigvald

Won against
Queek

so yeah not the strongest :)

1v1 are useless when talking about singleplayer. 95% of the playerbase doesn't give ♥♥♥♥♥ about multiplayer

Define strongest.

If you mean in useless 1v1 situations, then no.

If you mean in general battlefield prowess, then no, he's not even the strongest in his own race. Malagor is absolutely bonkers now and might be the strongest caster in the game.

If you mean in faction campaign mechanics, then yes probably. The only one that is arguable is Clan Eshin's delete a faction mechanic.

Basically, all of this.

Like strongest lord, no way. As the quote says, even among BM I'd probably rather have Malagor simply for the ridiculous magic there... in contrast, Taurox even seems a bit weak.

Strongest *faction*, very possibly. Eshin's mechanics I'd say might be slightly better, because again going back to the quote, they can basically delete a faction. But beyond what the quote says, Skaven innately (for all Skaven, not just Eshin) have the ability to use food to insta-Tier-5-settle-or-conquer major settlements. So Eshin, when you also factor in the way the food mechanics work, is probably the strongest faction in the game campaign-wise. You can really, really break the meta as Skaven because jumping up to Tier 5 early gets you to advanced units way before you would get there as any other faction.

To quote geebs91, "Thats some prime wagyu beef right there"

That said, Malagor can do wonders with flock of doom leveled up.

Malagor is the best BM LL after the rework which means Taurox isn't anywhere close to being "the best" LL overall. I mean, Malagor can fly now and if you add in he's a magic based LL that put's him as the #1 BM LL. Taurox is good and fun to play but he's not OP, either in battle or on the campaign map.
so far taurox seems like a normal hit things lord nothing to special, he is fun though.
Well i can't speak for LL vs Taurox, but i did send a level 26 Taurox in against a 3 stack of Tomb Kings and he finished the fight at full health. Sooooo, i would imagine he's like top 3 or 5 LL's in the game

Taurox is very strong when it comes to anti infantry like absurdly so and if you happen upon the sword of khaine you can just send him in to enemy armys alone and decimate their forces while maintaining full health plus his explosion is on a pretty short cooldown he's basically really good when you factor in bad ai and what evs in pvp
Taurox scales in power, with the .. how shall I be polite, the less skillfull a player is, the stronger Taurox as a lord choice is.

He's a "send him in, forget about him" lord. Not requiring much micromanagement to do good with him.

Compared to say, Oxyotl, who is a far stronger lord, but needs to be micromanaged.
As a BM lord, I'd actually put Taurox only above Khazrak, but I've not truly checked old one eye, he might be better overal due to being a chariot character.
I'll have to play a skaven summoning build again to be sure, but he doesn't feel as strong as my memory of that. Mostly because the AI comes to you with a summoning build, you don't even have to chase them. You double your armies power with the right setups and negate skaven moral penalties with 4 multiple moral lines + summons.

I haven't played skaven for a long time though, so I am not sure if I will have to preface that with eshin + a skaven summoning build now after reading above.
I think Nakai will whack him.

Are Tuskgor chariots still bugged? If so then wouldn't Khaz be the strongest for the moment?

Heard this was fixed prior to release but did not test it.

I just tried the Turin test in the lab. 3 stripped down wargors on tuskgor chariots (900 gold per) vs 4 blood knights. The chariots styled all over the knights. I think they might still be over performing.

I'm gonna level up Khaz and see if I can make him a 1 man doomstack without the SoK.
Sword of Khaine is still sadly pointless for everyone without mods so don't listen to people who take you to pick it up, you might get used to a very fickle thing ;p
Thing is, anyone can RAZE the Shrine and the swords get's teleported back to the shrine untill someone (that has to be an elf) rebuilds it. And since Khaine has dumb gigantic FACTION WIDE penalties for a weapon that ONLY empowers one dude in an FACTION vs FACTION game... ;p

What? The beastmen aren't affected by any of the negatives that come with Sword of Khaine, you can't go wrong with using it.
