Mortal Realms doesn't appear to work

What is the Mortal Realms download supposed to do if I own both TW:WH games? I had a hard time getting the Steam client to recognize that I own TW:WH II to even download the free DLC - but now, I don't see the Mortal Realms on the Campaign map. I don't think they're 'hooked up." What do I need to do?

Also, weird, Usually the only thing you need is to have both games in your library and download mortal empires from the store page, try restarting your Steam client that usually fixes that issue, or verify integrety of game cache. If it's still persisting I'd recommend visiting the support forums.

Not sure if i understand your issue. Are you trying to load up an existing save? The Vortex campaign won't be 'upgraded' once you download the dlc. You need to start a new Mortal Empires campaign from the main menu.

No - I've verified the game files and restarted etc. I'm currently playing as the Tomb Kings, but when I pan the camera out and look at the whole map - half of the world is grayed out. I've got an army standing right next to THE BIG GRAY WALL, and I can't move into it either.
I thought when you bought both of the games, you had access to the entire world map?

Mortal Empires adds another campaign right at the title screen.
You can choose between the "Vortex" campaign that came with Warhammer 2 and only includes the "New World", in which you follow the Vortex storyline for each faction.

Or you play "Mortal Empires" which is a giant sandbox map combined from Warhammer 1+2 with all the factions from both games.

Yeah, this isn't a map expansion. It is a different map. You have to start a campaign on the Mortal Empires campaign map to use it.

I thought when you bought both of the games, you had access to the entire world map?

You get access to the Mortal empires "campaign".
