Specs to get no lower than 60fps @ 1080p Ultra?
Preparing for game 3 like mad. Recently sold my 6600xt for a 3060ti, but cpu-wise right now still on my r5 1600.

Y'all think this is enough? Looking to change my cpu to a 5600(g?), but would changing from 3.8 GHz to 4.2+ give me a noticeable improvement?

Am asking this coz', when I was using 6600xt + 1600, I would get really good fps 80+. But during battles there are times where this would tank to below 45. And there was even one time it shot down to 25 which was jarring.

What do y'all think?

Consistently? Pretty much a pipe dream unless you're willing to use a significantly higher resolution card at 1080p for the sake of this series alone... and even then, there'll likely be scenarios...

Better to get strong enough specs to do the job well and be prepared to tweak/cut unnecessarily draining settings and cap fps as necessary to mitigate the extremity and frequency of the under load drops that are, for various reasons, a matter of course in this game (and will certainly be in Warhammer 3 too)

Problem with WH2 is that in battle you're CPU bound even with a top notch CPU, then GPU doesn't matter...

Really not true. The issue with this game is GPU's and specifically its f'ed shaders. CPU's have been more than powerful enough for a couple generations to deal with old TW problem(computing wise this is same engine as Empire, only graphics have really changed, namely the shaders). SSDs as well have made load times pretty much non-issue with these games, which once upon a time was a CPU reliant issue too, these are not problems today.

Even with a 3060, upgraded from 580, still get lack lustre performance at same settings. Now frames are generally improved but its not getting 60 all the time, as first post says, especially in right circumstances.

Game engine is poorly optimised and either CA cannot, nor doesn't care enough to address it. Troy isn't like this, WH1 isn't like this. Not just your hardware, so don't break the bank for this game, w/e you get will perform nicely relative to w/e you have.

And this game is almost entirely GPU bottlenecked, I've tested on three diff procs over the years, never made a difference, hell even GPU upgrades as I've stated, barely make difference, and its never the night and day diff youll see with other games.

You mentioned using an AMD GPU, they have upscaling (so does Nvidia with their NIS tech)

I'd suggest using this to get more performance for a small downgrade to your graphics.
