Depends on a whole lot of things. Does my increasingly antiquated computer have the capacity to play three being top of the list.

I'll switch from WH2 to WH3 when I'm switching from Farming Sim 19 to 22.
(I will not switch to FS 22)

I simply do not see the upgrade as worthy enough to spend money on it.

IE will be bigger, but also still squished.
And what's really new are factions I don't care about. I don't care about Cathay. I don't care about the Ogres. I don't care about Chaos Daemons. I don't care about Kislev, no, that's not true. I do care, on a disdain level.

And I don't want to reward CA for the things I actively loathe about the game, only for a few gameplay improvements.

All elves and vampire counts in general are my favorige factions, seeing them being nerfed into oblivion and even without possibility to confederate, I will not touch WH3. I don't care about deamons or chaos, make Elves great again. And also that performance doesn't seem to be improved, which is another reason to keep playing wh2.

I have a feeling I will be bouncing back and forth between the two. Like you guys said, some factions are different, and I might prefer the older iterations, and I kind of enjoy the idea of playing around with both games just to compare/contrast how various factions and mechanics work. Might play 3 for a while then go back to 2 for a while to vibe with the old map/aesthetic.

Nope, untill they will make WH3 with same level of quality (including gameplay) as WH2.
All factions, all cities, good optimization and etc. Untill that moment - i will not even buy it. Why i should pay for incompleted game? (Oldschool chad gamer in thread)

I'll keep playing WH2 until the game gets a good discount and/or some mods I want for immortal empire. There are too many details I personally dislike, like the fact that the faction start positions are randomly scattered around the world.

My biggest issue with what I've seen so far is the frequency of settlement/siege battles. I don't really enjoy 3's iteration of the siege system and if trying to expand in IE you will be fighting a LOT of those battles.

Current plan is to stay with game 2 till like Nov/Dec and hopefully 3 will be in a better place. If not then Ill just not spend money on DLC and likely move on to other games.

playing it right now, current turn 150 archoen recently arrived with 12 other doom stacks.
I have all of lustria conquered lterally every one good military alliance. Playing on hard everything. I want to complete it.

Ill probably wait for a 50%, since even if I bought it and the immense amount of DLCs at 50% off itll still run me a couple hundred (like both games before it). 3 is heavily subpar compared to 2 (and mortal empires) right now, and I dont really care for multiplayer anyway, so I can wait.
