Want to have more fun in your Campaigns? Turn off Auto-resolve!
For a long time, I found myself just Auto-Resolving a lot of my battles. I'd have fun in the beginning, but slowly I'd lose interest and eventually drop the campaign.

One day I decided to get a mod that removes Auto-Resolve [Except for trivial battles]. Suddenly I'm enjoying the game 10x more.

Take my advice; Get a mod that disables Auto-Resolve

Problem is some battles are not worth fighting. Like attacking a 6 garrison city with a full stack.

House rules usually work best. Like, only autoresolve when odds are 4:1 or something is clearly not being read properly by the AI.

i can see how and why this would help, might even make me play campaigns longer, but i know some races this would make you fight nearly every battle until turn 100+ and that could be insufferable depending on the faction, i'll keep it in mind though

Depend on battle, most of part, it's better off to auto when battle is kind of same thing over and over, other thing not worth it when a.i attack your walled village and still lose because very weak garrison even max out building, and wall. Auto help for people who too busy in real life. so no.

Have you played the game at higher difficulties? With the amount of armies you tend to fight at higher difficulties you would likely quit the campaign way faster out of boredom. Also the Autoresolve Bar isn't usually too accurate so a battle that shows a 50% chance of winning instead when played by a person is more like a 90% chance of winning, though sometimes Autoresolve does stack the odds in your favor.

It still works when it is hugely against or for the player...it's probably best addition to the game and really what base game should be as well, cos OP is 100% right.

Nearly killed all fun ever have with all TW games by getting in that same rut, and this mod saved me too.

Yeah, no. I'd rather dictate myself which battle I want to fight and which I do not.
Even if the odds are almost even in it. At times you just want to get over something and be done with it.

Like say you're not in the mood to micromananage your army constantly. Waiting for that stupid Warpbomb the skaven get with a Walled settlement region.
Not to mention, you have a plan in your head, but not that much time to put it in place if you fought a 20 minute battle. There's so many variables that dictates if I take a autoresolve gamble or not.

What a Genius...Maybe turn off the whole pc and have even more fun doing something else?

I look forward to my next 50 battles with my 19 saurus warriors. I am assured it will be fun to micro them.

Ah yes, 200 identical battles against garrisons

This is kinda dumb, auto-resolve is great for easy, pointless battles or for killing garrisons. Do you auto-resolve the big, fun battles too? What's the point of playing TW if you're gonna skip those?
