Warp grinders, and warpfire throwers.
Does anyone else just love these two units?
Especially in sieges these things are amazing, the grinders tear down the walls opening gaps and the throwers pour fire in to just melt enemy infantry.
In my experience I prefer warpfire throwers to even ratling guns as they seem to do much more damage to infantry blobs and knock them back and their lower range doesn't matter so much when combined with warp grinders.

I usually always have 2 Warp Grinders in my armies, I rarely use Warpfire Throwers though, not because they're bad but because when I play Skaven I usually go for a range heavy army composition so I prefer Ratling Gunners for their increased range.

When i play ikit me i get 4 grinders then all warpthrowers... they melt everything. Bit crap on sieges but the enemy will normally sally out thinking youre easy pickings then you just stomp them.

Such good units and the grinders protect them from all sides when you have 4 allowing you to just fry anything thats close.

They fall off end game but such a good tier 2.

I love putting Grinders up next to the walls and using both of their abilities at the same time, the enemy can't move and they still take damage on the walls, it's OP as hell.

I never use either of those 2 units. I have been thinking that mass warp grinders might be a good idea because of their AoE dmg, but the Skaven just have much better unit options (mortars, jezzails, rattling gunners, doomwheels, warplightning cannons, plague catapults, etc.).

I normally charge the gate and use them they reach behind it and hit everything then just spam it on cool down. They melt to ranged fire though.

Everyone said warp grinders are good against cav, mine just melt insanely quick...

While warpfire is nice, I do like death globes more cuz they can target all unit types whereas warpfire is anti-infantry

The Warp Grinders AOE damage is nice, but it's their snare ability that is the real MVP. I snare the enemy in place when they start to get close, use the AOE ability at the same time, while targeting the enemy with Ratling Gunners. It's the whole combo that makes it good.

You're supposed to use their snare ability on the cav.

Yeah, kinda got that XD. Was throwing them against Chaos stacks and being charged by chaos knights wiped them.

Though they can be helpful. When I confedded Skrolk I missed a few armies in disbanding (tend to only have LL leadin armies nowadays) and had to fight chaos on sea with some AI made armies, one got utterly destroyed and the other did reasonably well, after losing 90% of units but the warpgrinders with their abilities did do a lot.

Ikit has the best use for warpgrinders with his workshop upgrades for them, but I'll stick with Gutter Runners (poison) for Snikch and my lovely gun range for Ikit =)

Yeah, both units are great. I still use rattlings though, their speed debuff on hit is just invaluable and they are better against flyers.

Grinders are great utility. In sieges they rock and in field battles their abilities can lock enemies in place to be murdered.

Mortars are great as well, their dot effect is super strong and they are extremely efficient killing stuff on walls

Warpfire throwers are amazing in sieges. You just have fire at will on, open up gaps with the warp grinders, position the throwers correctly and they'll fire into the enemy infantry in the settlement. You can easily kill the entire enemy army this way which is what I usually do. This also works somewhat with ratling gunners but is less effective as the throwers have more of an arc of fire. Also with the right perks, i don't think they actually fall off in the endgame. I've been using them against ironbreakers and the damage is still massive.

I took karak eight peaks as clan mors (legendary difficulty) on turn ten with these things, They definitely can shoot if you position them correctly and have fire at will on, they only derp if you right click on the enemy without a clear line of sight. This is why warp grinders are so good in conjuction wtth them as they can break down walls and create lines of sight.

Yeah i normally just go in the other gate and flank with them spraying through gaps is a bit turd they dont always shoot even with los. Amazing in open battles though.

You may just be placing them incorrectly, i.e too close or trying to shoot across a diagonal.
