not really. some pretty decent ones for variety, but nothing really endgame worthy.
dont think empire gets any other DLCs.
Its a fun enough campaign tho, especially now htat empire has to deal with elector counts

Nope not really. The huntsman are ok though.

a decent campaign but other than the huntsman which are decently good, the other units are trash with the exception of the RoR war wagon which is fun. The old empire DLC Grim and the Grave will get you alot more useful units and a very good lord.

The regular War Wagon is arguably the worst unit in the game. The RoR, however, is devastating.

err empire archer forgotten? They are great early game unit and not sure about the community feeling about Legendoftotalwar he did say Archer are better then crossbow.

Isnt that mainly because of the firing arc? Crossbow needs a flat trajectory while archers fire in arc.
Its much easier to utilize in different situations.

Crossbows don't quite need a flat trajectory, but I think it is flatter than archers. And that's got to be the reason, because crossbows have much greater range, slightly more ammo and more damage, especially against armor.

Its gives archers, huntsmen, war wagons, and the huntsmen general.

Archers are a trash unit that can make up numbers, they are worse than crossbowmen in every way except for a more flexible firing arc. These guys have pretty bad accuracy, so expect friendly fire. Useful for early second armies to support in attacks or draw out enemy attacks.

Huntsmen are better than crossbowmen in every way possible except for the AP damage output (which is a big deal). They have anti-large arrows, which makes them a solid choice vs cav or monsters. They have the best firing arc possible for archers (they can fire arrows like mortar teams, so they can hit while hiding directly behind your lines) and have great accuracy, so there wont be much if any friendly fire.

War wagons... sadly they are pretty much useless. Everything they (and the mortar version) do, another unit does better and normally at less cost.

Huntsmen Generals are the best thing the DLC brings to the table. These sniper bastards eat heroes and other lords alive from range, and get exclusive to them buffs for archers/huntsmen/spearmen/halberds/greatswords. The buffs make archers solid, make huntsmen outstrip crossbows by far (rifles are still the best if you can deal with firing lines :D), and make shield spearmen/halberds/GS far better than they should be.

Do they? I have played Dwarfs, Empire and Dark Elves many times and I thought Crossbows can somehow arc just like regular bows.

Archers are okay at the start or for an army you need in a location when you need swift troops and don't have much other options. Warwagons are bad, huntsmen fill a nice role in the roster. Over all the hunter and the beast give good lords and a great campaign. Grim and the grave give better units with good lords and an interesting LL. if you like plaything the empire I would get them both but I wouldn't say any are strictly needed. I always make to get wolfhart at the start of every empire campaign for the challenge.

Crossbows have about half the possible arc of bows, so bows are far better from odder angles (units like those ridiculous mistwalker archers can literally mortar arrows over buildings, crossbows cant).

Archers are also cheaper and come a whole tier earlier, which means they can be brought out as acceptable ranged support the moment you grab any settlement.

The Grim and the Grave adds more empire units, like the Free Company Militia and Flagellants.

Playing as Wulfhart is worth it, but if you just want new units for the older content then no, the DLC doesn't add much of value to Empire. Mostly inferior side-grades.

I had a lot of fun with The Beast side of the DLC when it comes to units, though. Nakai can be fun too.
