Skavens are just unfun to the game
When doing your campain, being at war with one skaven natio or even 2 is just not fun at all. The combat simulation is a pain in the ass, there is litterally nothing engaging or fun facing them. They just rat everywhere, rout, rally, attack etc. They've got broken ass heroes units assassins, which 1v one army almost, taking 0 dmge, but just breaking every single unit you have. They've got rat shooter that still shoot while running, they've got omni invisible rats, they've got invisible colony part inside your own.

It's pure ♥♥♥♥. No fun, nothing interesting about that faction. The entire gameplay, even if "it's lorewise" is just not engaging and made me already alt + f4 to much game to count. It's stupid as ♥♥♥♥. Fighting chaos is nice, beasts, elven, pirates, dwarves, even the orc's green wave. But dude, those rats ? Hell no. If we had an option not having any single damn rat in the game, I would pick it on every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ play through I'm doing.

Kill skaven early they get worse the longer you let them. The only good thing about skaven is they generally stink on auto resolve.

funny enough its one of the two reasons kroqgar is so hard

Have you tried exploiting their absolutely terrible morale & used fast moving units?

Skaven really only feel dangerous when I play them since basically every Skaven lord has stupidly broken gimmicks that basically boil down to turning cheats on (like infinite ammo).
As enemies you just doomstack and walk over them and they just like lose instantly

Skaven are the campaign wildcard race especially after getting all that dlc cheese added in. Depending on where they are in relation to your start they can be either a massive pain in your butt or the reason half the maps factions are ignoring you as they deal with the vermintides. Depending on your starting race I'd try to get some diplomacy early on and at least get a non aggression pact to the closest one till you build up enough to wipe them.

Alternatively, if you're playing the Enchantress, just bum-rush Skavenblight.

your description is pretty lore accurate tho lol
They're meant to be this painful inhuman thing scurrying about around and under your feet in your walls. If its driving you crazy hit up some overhaul mods.

Enchantress has all sorts of problems anyway. Skaven or skullsmashers or beastmen and almost on top of you are wood elves. Though the last can and should be ignored.

Skaven have been the favourite of the devs, alongside elves. The Main Races (Empire, Orcs, Chaos, Vampires) have been power creeped into oblivion.
They have "E-sport'ed" the absolute ♥♥♥♥ of ♥♥♥♥ out of Warhammer and it inst fun anymore.

It is just a micro fest of lame, you don't get to enjoy playing the game like the Old titles.

It also seems like skaven are way more designed and complex than most of the races available (WH to WH2).

It's sad somehow, dwarfs seems just tasteless in comparison.

They can do what dwarfs do, and more. Same movements, + ambush aggression + chaos like plague + hidden cities + food management + infight soldiers calls, some more I may forget.

In comparison, Dawis have what, their book and the crafting. Well well well.

Vampires can summon deads, but costal vampires can do that + have coast ships and put hidden places aswell, searching for treasure also.

It really feels like they just underdevelopped the races from WH1.

It's sad and disappointing.

I barely have to micro if I'm forced into a battle that can't be won via auto resolve. The key is to corner stack your weapons teams then use summons and poison mortars to bog them down once they get in weapons team range. It's about as simple a strat as you can run. The trick is you only get to do this after you get your first doomstack up. Before that skaven are a pain to play manually since most of your melee units are complete trash without weapon team backup. Pre dlc skaven was fairly crappy too even with top tier units.

Well, Greenskins got a bit of a re-work and it addressed all the major issues. Obviously the beastmen had a massive overhaul moving them from one of the least enjoyed races to one of the most. Wood elf re-work was significant and led to a completely new playstyle.

However these were all re-works coinciding with new DLC for that race. A faction like Norsca has been seriously underdeveloped; Only 1 lord type, a thin (though fun) roster, and no faction mechanics beyond not being able to settle inland. So yeah, the WH1 base races still need a bit of work (+Norsca).

The Corner strategy isn't really unique to skaven though.

True was just saying they are pretty good at it with minimal effort.

Indeed.

But I bet they won't do anything. TWW3'out, meaning there is no incentive for them to work on them.

Sad.
