Missing save files.

Got the game during the free weekend, but bought it an hour later with a bunch of DLC because it is really good. However, all my save files are now missing. My assumption is that despite having bought it, because I procured it during the free event, it deleted the saves, even the ones with DLC, because the event is over, and with it being over, it didn't realize I bought it and removed all the local saves and junk.

I'm not too mad, the only time I really got far was in a dark elf Old World campaign. However, if this is a thing that happens often, and isn't just because of the free weekend mix up as I'm guessing, I'm a little concerned with starting any new save without seeing it to the end in one session, which is nigh impossible with how long they take. Not a big Steam user, so anyone that has more info on this would be appreciated.

I've still got saves from 2018, so no, it's not something that happens regularly.

That's strange, other people have just said their saves were showing a warning against loading because the free DLCs were deactivated for them after the free weekend ended. But the saves themselves shouldn't have disappeared.
Try activating the free DLCs again.

Was just looking into it a bit more, and this. Should have done more snooping first. Any ideas on how to remedy this? Every time I try and get a free DLC it just opens the game, and when I try to claim in-game it just opens Steam. There are some free DLC items that are also showing up available I did not see all weekend, even when the game said I claimed everything. I am confused utterly.

The way I always do to activate a new FLC is to launch the game after clicking to activate and it opens the launcher. Don't do it ingame, that just never works.

I encountered this problem as well, BUT when I click 'continue campaign' at the launcher it just loads my last save and I find all my saves ingame again.

I had this issue last night as well as a few friends. When the Play for Free weekend ended, it uninstalled all of the free DLCs for some reason, and now your saves are classed as incompatible due to missing DLC. Just redownload all of the free ones and it solves the issue.

hi guys ı had this problem too my pc shut down ınstantly at end of the turn(it was legendary) then ı couldnt find it tried various answers through here and net but in the end ı found the local save documents put the save there and when ı launched and conticuned ıt worked hope thıs helps someone
