WoC update?
Seeing as WoC are getting a huge update in WH3 when are they getting an update in WH2? They have been absolute garbage ever since they released and we should at least get an update for them in WH2. An update allowing them to swap from horde to city building and some sort of "scrap" upgrade like the orcs to allow units to dedicate themselves to a chaos god for buffs would be adequate imo.

I would be really surprised if we did, when the Empire was updated in game 2 the changes I do not think any changes were applied to game 1.

... and even if they did I'm not sure the community would recieve the changes well judging by the number of threads claiming the recent language pack which should have had no mod impact broke their game and or mods.

Ah but you see updating the WOC for WH2 would go against CA's business model of milking every cent from it's players as possible, ask yourself if WH1 has any of the updates for the game one races made in WH2

So no, in order to play the WOC with this new update you will need WH1+WOC dlc+WH2+and WH3, enjoy : )

Alternatively, before any of the "AcKsHuLlY" posts from the local CA defense squad you would theoretically be able to just buy WH3 and the upcoming Chaos dlc and get access to the faction minus the original lords from wh1 (making people who bought WOC dlc day one look even more like a chump)

Ask yourself if ANY game company wastes time and manpower on updating very old games when they could be further improving the new sequel, instead.

there are a lot of systemic changes in wh3, so it's not simply a matter of porting the WoC update back to the previous game.

yeah it's not happening, we got Taurox, but pretty sure that was the last DLC.

They will keep this one functional, but it's pretty much in it's final state.

Absolutely not

No. And i hope never. Getting upgrade is one thing, making them another generic race is another. No. Nonono.

Warhammer 2 is content complete and will not be receiving any more such updates.
So some of you think the state of WoC is acceptable? WoC came out in 2016 and has been garbage for 6 years, we players deserve an update even if its a small update like capturing cities

It is what it is... In general, companies don't tend to update the product that came before. There isn't a good reason to majority of the time.

I can already do that in WH2.

With the power of mods.

Once again - update is one thing. There are things that could be adressed, like horde growth and economy. Aswell as effects of horde infighting could be different (like marauders don suffer from attrition if no other marauder army is nearby). SOme units could use a rework or change of place in campaing economy (giand and manticore first of all).

But capturing cities? No. Hell no. If yo want that - you have mods. And that is no fun. Semo-horde norska is clool cause you still suffer from upkeep increase. But WoC would be either gutted by upkeep OR would fail apart cause their economy is not suited for upkeep increase.

So no, hell no. Update - sure. Aswell as norsca. But removingunique playtstyle, cause it is not suited for "i want to build tall and slowpoke through campaign" playstyle is idiotic at best, and i i would say egoistical and set up for bad practices.

TBH while WoC in WH2 are terribly barebone compared to everyone else, at least they're strong and playable properly.
The faction in WH2 that has mechanics that adapted very badly to WH2 is Norsca. At higher level of difficuty (VH+) that faction is just terrible and it's too bad because it has plenty of good things in it.
I'd say if they had to port ONLY one revamp of a race retroactively to wh2, that should be Norsca.
WHen CA was asked after updating the beastmen which old race did they felt needed a revamp in wh2, they answered "Norsca", and I agree.
