CA new "style" of update/patching need to change!!!
It happened second time, first with Tw 3K now with this one...big update 10 or 9 gb for this one, and then the update/patching works like this:

-first will downloading the new big update(nobody really need it) 9gb
-then it will patch 80gb in a process that looks to me like it will downloading again the entire game, since my ssd is rewriting AGAIN from 1gb till 80gb 😡
-and then, installing... from 1 gb to 80 gb wtf..

is this is like a slap in our faces because we kept criticizing you, or because we don't buy your last total crap wh3 game ? !?

🤬🤬🤬🤬

It's not a "new style", it's been like this for years.

Yep.

I find it annoying too and the devs really need to change it. I mean, its ok to reduce the GB of the patch, if they dont need to download 80GB, but they way they do now also dont fits, as it takes SOOOOOOOOO LONG to get the patching done even on a m2 SSD.

You should try it out here in the hinterlands. Started about 9:30 finished up about 3:30 that afternoon. so far it doesn't appear to have caused me any issues.

This "patch" should have been a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ free dlc for those that need it.....i deleted the files after it was done and didn't have to redownload them again to play...

This is a smart approach, hence it is not being applied. Smart was forbidden back in 2010 or even earlier.
How do you delete the patch files. Are they in users /application data or in program files. Please elaborate a bit on the folder and path.

Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/common/Total War Warhammer II/data

or Steamlibrary/Steamapps/.....
if installed on a different drive.

I have almost 3000 hours in Rome 2, and a few thousand hours in the other tw games and it wasn't like this, for the few mb patches wasn't need it to redownload the entire game, but now this process is completely retarded. First will download 10gb, then will patch the entire 80 gb by rewriting the entire 80gb and the total blow of stupidity from the unCreative Assembly Studio it comes from the fact that the game will now INSTALL all those 80 gb.

Why not just redownload the entire 80gb game and done with this "patching" bs :literalfireball: :virus_angry:

And how many gigs in rome II?
Darklordnj Aug 5, 2022 @ 6:24pm
It was like this for Rome 2 as well, either you forgot or bought the games after all updates were complete for the game.

Also, this is Steam’s update process. Not CA’s.

Some people have limited Internet.
I don't know how it was in Rome 2, but in WH this "small download, lots of rewriting" was the deal with most updates.

You’re the kinda guy who thinks it’s the wheels and flame decals that make the car go fast, arentcha?

Steam needs to allow people to reject updates they don't want.
The options currently are
1. Auto update
2. Update when launched
3. High priority update.
The obvious 4th option - Never update is missing.

Also since Steam doesn't allow that CA needs to do a better job of deploying updates. I'd say their is a low percentage of people who will ever need this 9GB update.

No, i'm the kind of guy who doesn't like when CA removed blood from their TW games and then sell it to us separately as DLC, but at least when they are patching our games, they really need to do it better then this crap
