This is the way.
But if I confed him, dark elves will know me and I dont need even more armies coming at me.
Really don't get why they couldn't have at least given Norsca/Chaos a slap patch for WH 2 before they ended WH 2 development to make Norscan/Chaos ruins work like a blood grounds where you have to destroy the Chaos Shrine and can upgrade it to provide better garrison troops, more corruption. and local replenishment.
There is a way to not conf the west side (playing as Throgg) so you do not get the love from DE and can focus on going down sacking the empire whilst allowing your skaven nasty friends to expand over your progression.
Still it's tricky and if you get war declared from norscan factions on the west side, it's going bad for you.
Wulfrik is a nightmare to play as.
Will have to see how it goes with the map including all 3 games.
Norsca is a pure raider faction. You don't earn your money in your towns, towns are only there to recruit and build your armies. You must attack, attack, and attack. You'll see evil red negative income numbers when you load up on armies, but you'll earn enough if you continuously attack and sack, only capture a town if you need/want the special building there or need/want to get casualty replenishment amped up.
If your armies take a beating, pull them back and rebuild while another army fills the attack role. If the AI dog-piles an area with armies, pull back and hit them as they spread out, use ambush stance so the AI doesn't "instantly" know where you are. Raiding is viable against those with whom you are not at war (yet).

Let's say if Tyrion is 8/10 I would give Norsca 4/10 the lowest score in the game.
But If you really want a challenge then try to wipe Bretonia at early stage, then Empires before they alliance, but It's very tough.
Was playing on Very Hard for achievement. Also using some mods that make player bias less and less confed and some other AI overhauls, still a pain.
Problem being you can't actually stop the AI by raiding, raiding has diminishing returns after a first sacking, and on higher difficulties raiding does about nothing to stop a later game AI faction. Then since Norscans/Chaos lack a Blood Grounds mechanic, to lock down ruins, they have no way to stop faction reemergence who then get a crap ton of free settlements since AI doesn't pay for colonization and higher difficulty replenishment means their army is back up and running 1-2 turns later. This is further compounded by supply lines making a raiding economy unsustainable. Let alone large parts of the Old World are miles away from ports limiting Norscan ability to regroup.
Raiding is income don't forget and sometimes sacking and moving on/returning is key.
Those were the hardest parts for me to learn.
