So, the Chaos gods technically just went "LOL XDDDD".
I kind of wanted him to operate under the notion that all the 'gods' were the same, that he could look up and see them in the sky, kind of breaking the 4th wall, and actually seeing that the tabletop players are the gods sort of. Whether true or not I thought it'd be interesting.
End Times also ruined Setra for me. THere's a point where Setra is summoned to join Chaos in the final field battles pretty much, and he's supposed to face Nagash. He punks out and ditches on Chaos all in one day? Just weak.
Belegar had a great ending I thought. Thorgrimm and Queek kind of got shafted. But the book covering them was great I thought.
Then the idea that people survived the End Times to go to AoS I didn't like. It reminds me of that one guy who survives The Illiad only to show up in Roman war poems a thousand years later or something.
But I did like the actual ending of the world. Thought it was awesome and gutsy. More game worlds should die.
For sure the End Times does not mean Chaos has just disappeared. They're still out there.
Personally, I ignore all the nonsense concerning End Times, as far as I'm concerned Archaon failed in the Storm of Chaos and was defeated.
if you ever read a warhammer novel and thought "this is good, I will continue to do this," or if you saw "the end times" as anything other than a hack way to introduce a new game and $$ for GW, you deserve everything that's happening to your feels about the lore
However, there are a few Chaos themed novels that make Chaos factions seem like more than just loser apocalyptic cultists.
40K is some warped parody of WFB, chaos here are bad ass Vikings with plate armor
Chaos in 40k is a buncha whiny cry babies with daddy issues
They need only "finish" this scenario by granting every player faction a chance to win total victory. Funny part is several other factions dominating or destroying the planet would probably come more naturally. Greenskins for instance.
Just ignore End Times. Treat it as a what if scenario or something. Its total bullcrap.
