And price increase to 1500.
Mounted version to 2000.
Ive only played a few games with them, and apart from being nice to throw into a enemy's flank now and again, their ranged attack doesn't seem to do a great deal.
All I have to say is please, no more chariots, CA. It was disappointing to say the least to see that one of the new DE units was a chariot. I realize they have their place if you want to micro their cycle charging, but I'd sooner just use cavalry. Not only are chariots boring, I just find it difficult to justify keeping them in an army over more efficient units.
The medusa's ranged attack is AoE, and while it can be used against cav, she doesn't have enough ammo to get value out of that. Target infantry, ideally ones with close formation, on the approach. With 55 speed, I like to put her out in front of the army, get off one or two shots when it's just her out in the open, then pull her back on a J-path to send her onto the flank and keep shooting that way. Don't treat her like an archer; she does suffer from obstructed view, but unlike archers, she can reposition quickly, and has the range to do so safely. She is a glass cannon, though, and you should not send her into melee unsupported.
used properly it DESTROYS infantry
Evidently Bloodwrack Medusas learned their marksmanship and close quarter skills from Markus Wulfhart.
Who I guess learned his skills from Orion.
Ranged Lords and Heroes often suck and are a pain to use. They're so picky about attack angles compared to any ranged infantry. Coupled with their naturally slow fire rate, it's hard to know when it's finally corrected.
Of course when they work, they do pretty good damage. Wulfhart especially does his job as an anti-titan/anti-lord/anti-hero archer. If he can see his target.
Never had I had a problem with obstructed view, you gotta use them like free company militia where you flank around the main engagement and shoot in to the side/back of units. I'll easily rack up 100+ kills each battle. If you keep them behind your main units next to your darkshards then yeah of course they're not gonna do well.
