Best bang for your buck DLC
Any advice? Should i just wait for a sale? I dont want to splurge too much on an old game with a tight budget. Any suggestions which DLC i should get thats a must have.

Best way to make sure that you don't splurge is to wait for a sale. Luckily, there should be a sale from June 1st to June 8th due to Games Workshop's Warhammer Skull's Event.

Also, bang for your buck depends on what races you're interested in. So, what races are you most interested in playing?

Only wood elves and Vampirates are more than ten but both provide four factions the others provide two. Unless you're just trying to complete the set there is no reason to buy DLC for factions you have no interest in playing.

With a tight budget just wait for a sale. Nothing available is new.

If you don't have a favorite existing race that you want to supplement I would recommend Tomb Kings or Vampire Coast as both were well done and added a ton of content.

If you don't have it, then the best "DLC" for WH2 is WH1.

As has been said: it comes down to what you like.

If you don’t like Skaven or Dark Elves, but you like Lizardmen and the Empire then obviously you’re going to be more satisfied with The Hunter and the Beast than The Shadow and the Blade for example.

It’s hard to objectively say that X DLC is better than another as it really does come down to personal preferences. All factions/characters in the DLCs appear in-game regardless if you own it so what you’re paying for is the ability to actually use that faction, play their campaigns in the Vortex campaign, and whatever new units it may add for that faction/race.

Any changes to the general game that affect other factions, the map, etc were integrated alongside the DLCs.

Tomb kings and vampires of the coast are $20 full price or $10 on sale. They are both full faction DLC's that do not require anything else. Tomb kings are humans that were turned undead and have very unique mechanics and it apparently has really good reviews.

The $10 DLC's have 2 LL's on seperate factions with some bonus units. I believe there are some youtube reviews u can watch. If you don't wanna waste time you can check out the DLC on steam and see what units they add and what LL they add.

Like someone else said if you don't like a particular faction you might not like DLC for them. So just try and pick a DLC for the faction you like.

That really depends on your preferred races and playstyles.
I can get endless entertainment value from Dwarfs.
I just love Dawi and organ guns...
For most they are boring garbage.

Best Skaven DLC would be stuff like the Prophet and The Warlock which adds loads of technologically based units and Nukes. After that there is the Shadow and the Blade which has a ninja rat based theme and the Twisted and the Twilight which has a bunch of mutants and monsters for Skaven.

Orc DLC includes the Warden and the Paunch which is probably the better Ork DLC of the two that exist that adds stuff like Rogue Idols and some more trolls. There is another Ork DLC from Warhammer 1 called The King and The Warlord which adds Squigs and stuff like that.

You could probably snatch whatever you want from that on the cheap on sale.

Always nice to have them in case of change of mind though, otherwise you can't try them... So yeah, getting them on sale is best.

Prophet and The Warlock

Warden and the Paunch

The Silence and The Fury

Best DLC is the one with the faction you want to play :)

Seriously though, it really depends what you want. I never played WE till the Sisters dlc and loved it. Prophet & Warlock made Skaven really fun for me.

I even really like the more story-driven campaigns of Hunter & Beast (use Fudging Vassals mod to make Nakari work) because it offers a very different goal than vortex or paint the map.
