Bretonnian Foot Squires
why is it we see them sword and shielded in a quick scene in the bretonnian trailer but they only have great swords in the game. if they are the highest teir infantry bretonnia have they kind of suck against almost everything ranged.

and in the bretonnian trailer when you see the Pilgrim knock a skele boi back with his shield you can clearly see the shielded foot squair behind him

If you want tanker just pick Grailguardian they win even mid tier halberd .

Trailers and videos are often done at much earlier stages of development. Balancing and design likely made them give up shields for them.

trailers also kinda follow rule of cool, it looks like theres dismounted knights in there, which isn't what we get in game(unless they were supposed to be paladins, i dunno), the closest was perhaps the RoR foot squires with halberds.

Either way, Brettonian infantry is supposed to be garbage. The foot squires are already a non-lore addition to help stiffen up their infantry selection. That said, if you want infantry to just hold, then your best bet is either men at arms stiffened by a grail reliquae, or battle pilgrims with their frenzy+monstrous leadership. Foot squires are dedicated heavy infantry killers, and that's about it. They trade ok with non-AP infantry thanks to 70 armor, but it's nothing spectacular, and units like GG can give them a run for their money, if not outright trash them.

In terms of top tier infantry, brettonia has about the worst in straight up 1v1s. Brettonia infantry is only meant to hold the line long enough for the cav to win the cav fights, kill the archers, then swing around for their punishing rear charges.

That being said, polearms with grail relique are great line-holders and will hold up against most low-medium tier infantry, and not to mention monsters

Ill use that reliquae strategy i suppose. It would just be incredibly help if foot squires had the ability to use those ******* shields on their backs. Thank you for the help ^^
