Tips on how to beat norsca on very hard campaign difficulty without cheats/mods? XD

Leave norsca. Seriously, staying there is a noob trap. Get one province secured, go confederate the other LL then go raiding. Bretonia is a decent destination or Ulthuan. You wanna go somewhere with lots of ports since you can only occupy ports and race capitals.

If you do the main quest and decide to fight the chaos invasion, if you win you get some pretty great buffs. one of which is a global 75% upkeep reduction. Capturing race capitals can give you access to some very powerful technologies.

Battle-wise, their units are OK but not great. They have a lot damage dealing options but are light on defense. War mammoths are really good, get those ASAP. Berserkers are great in the early game if you can keep them alive. Champions are pretty good, but kinda overpriced. Skinwolves and Fimir are good Monster infantry. Skinwolves for anti-large, fimir for anti-infantry

You can't build walls at all. Its kinda annoying, makes for a frustrating time when trying to hold any large amount of land. Its a tough faction, good luck!

Tried it some weeks ago, went to turn 80 some
Don't confed Norsca, just your province,
Then raid some Empire/Kislev to level up, level your capitol until you can get a couple War Mammoths and have Ulfric on one (took me up to around turn 50), then only go to Bretonnia, sack them and take the coastal cities that are much better than sh#t Norsca
Build a second army
A bit later you'll be able to confed Norsca but then it'll be manageable
Diplo wise you should at all costs prevent wars with DE, that are just the "too much" enemy as they' ll attack you from north and west.. I wasn't able to avoid warring Rakarth but beat him and get peace (Albion is sh#t as well)

I was thinking about having a military aliance with DE later down the track - is it even viable? And with Rats as they will help with chaos invasion

It is quite difficult to make friend with dark elf because a soon as you get the closest land to them, Har Ganeth will declare war to you once she has conquered Aghol.
It is still possible if she confederate early with Malekith but your best friends as norsca will be skaven clan Moulder and Rogue armies who will hold settlements for you.

Well, this stream was before Rakarth update so you ended up quickly getting Albion, it's not possible anymore now...
