Grave Guard Halberds?
Has CA mentioned anything about giving Vcounts Armored AP anti large infantry? or at the very least AP anti large infantry? seems like a bit of a gap in their roster

No idea if that was option on tabletop, but it might help our the Vampire Counts in multiplayer.

I don;t play multiplayer, but in single player, Blood Knights handle all my anti large needs.

Doubt it, they kinda get their anti large from blood knights and monsters.

CA_duck mentioned they have no plans to minimize weaknesses for races. Of course, their plans may change as more things get added, but that is their stance for now.

In other words, wont happen.

would be nice for sure as an elite anti-large infantry is a relatively large hole in the roster

but i dont think its gonna happen even if/when counts get a dlc as some holes are best left open

maybe as a ROR sort of like how beastmen have the khorroks manrippers "or however you spell that name"

Would be nice. Vcounts go from skeleton spears, then have sod-all for antilarge until tier 5 with Blood Knights or Terrorgheists. Grave Guard are hardly what I'd call 'elite', but it'd at least give them something to work with against any remotely armored cavalry/monster until they can roll out their own top tier stuff.

Grave Guard is supposedly elite or dead hero based of lore, but in gameplay, yes, they are not seem to be elite, it's just medium core, light medium core at that with huge upkeep cost.

Grave Guard is a fairly tough unit that will outlast most infantry. Not bad for a tier 3 unit.

Against large targets, you have your basic spear wall, Blood Knights, Terrorgheist and Gaze of Nagash(which overcasted absolutely murders large targets).

Vampire Counts have Skeleton spearman and Heroes, and NASTY magic.. Rest of the units are a waist of upkeep.. Like always it is a matter of income vs exspenses.. You can pretty much have 2-3 armies with skeletons and necroes, for the prize of 1 unit of Blood Knight..
Unless it is on Red Duke ofcause..

I seriously hope they do not add units to plug holes in each factions, like, if they are weak at infantry, keep them like that. Focus on the strength of the faction instead, make it weak at something. Don't make factions good at everything.

They do have weak infantry though, giving them halberd grave guard won't make their infantry suddenly super strong you know? I think almost every faction has an AP anti large infantry except Vcounts.

Not to mention Vcounts primary weakness is meant to be their lack of ranged units.

That makes for the most lackluster and boring gameplay though

Dawi does not. Greenskins does not. Norsca does not. Beastmen does not. Vampire Counts does not. So that is 1/3 of the factions.
And in terms of effectiveness, both Empire Halberdiers and Bretonnia's Men-at-arms with Polearms are not that great, since they are only tier 3 units and weak against similar tiered "standard" infantry and ranged attacks(due to lack of armor). They will do well against heavy cavalry(for their cost), but that is about it.

Vampire Counts can deal with large units just fine through magic(having the best anti-large spell in the game, as well as access to other spell lores that are very effective against them), a spammable infantry unit that does "ok" as an anti-large screen(much better than Empire spearmen imo, as they will never break and run and can be healed and resurrected). They have access to one of the best cavalry units in the game(which has anti-large) as well as several beasts that can easily slay large targets.

A mid tier anti large unit for VC's would be very useful, it doesn't even have to be armor piercing. Just something between Skeleton T1 and Bloodnights/Terrorgheist T5, the gap is to big imo.

Grave Guards with Great Weapons is a decent stand in(due to their high weapon strength).
Crypt Horrors are ok as well(poison + high AP).

In addition to this, you can get high tier units through battlefield mounds, so you can get tier 4 and 5 units way before most other factions.
