enemy cheats?

hey guys was just wondering how a faction that only has 3 settlements can afford to have 3 full stack armies. i have 5 provinces and can only afford 2 and a half.....

the rouge army colonization is a damn nightmare infestation, and yeah the enemy factions get cheaper upkeep.

ya thats brutal that i can be at war with the number 1 and 2 factions, make peace so i can deal with a bunch of nobodies on my other flank just to find out they have a bigger army then either of the other 2 lol

i’m not exactly sure what their cheats are but i do know they get 200 growth for free, hence how they can be tier 5 on turn 45

Sure, they cheats. Pretty heavily too.

Depends on difficulty. On normal they recruit and pay for their units mostly the same as the player. Though they do have bonuses in other areas still like attrition due to standing in corruption and stuff. As you crank up the campaign difficulty they start getting significant bonuses to recruitment costs, and upkeep etc. Its all in the xml, and theres an old post with all the info here:

ya i was playing with some mods previously that seemed to help with some of this, but all the modders seemed to have died with covid and everything is unsupported anymore :(

I was considering the $60 for this game but this will probably mean a hard pass for me. I don't care for playing games against AI that the developers could only give cheats to in order for there to be any challenge. The no fog of war for the AI has always been a crap move by devs since Warcraft and CC.

Well, i guess you will have like 2 or 3 games left to play if you want games with no ai cheats.

Every game there is basically has cheats for ai, if it's unlimited ammo in fps, HUGE tons of HP and damage for npcs (Dark Souls, Bloodborne) or better economics (any rts), because currently there is no *true* ai, and it can't compete with players (at least good players).

If you wanna experience fair play set the difficulty to easy, and steamroll the poor ai.
