Can we have a good german translation for TWWH 3?

I mean Grimgor Ironhide doesnt translate to GrimgorK EisenPELZ i mean WTF? it should be Grimgor Eisenhaut. And Thorek Ironbrow is not Thorek Eisenstirn .... it should be Thorek Eisenbraue ...

You do realise that the translations come from the tabletop etc.? If they are bad now, they were bad in the 80s already. If you don't like it play in english. Besides: Hide = Pelz, Tierhaut; Haut = Skin, so it should be Grimgor Ironskin, which it isn't.

No. Accept that German synchros suck balls and play on English.
Same for movies, and I really don't know if it's lack of effort or lack of language understanding or simply some artistic freedom in translations (I wish they didn't) that leads to the issues.

Regardless, German synchronizations are an atrocity. Better skip it altogether.

This one has some delicious contentious terms, like Heil, Lower Saxons (whose accent gets mocked a lot), scoffing at Romans, Stamm (tribe), Father and son, blood, German Fatherland.


The verbosity of the German language stimulates the brain and I miss it because I hang out with too many Englishers.
Which is ironic since English is a Germanic language too, but it chooses its Romantic and Greek side too much.

That said, Pelz is more fitting than Haut in this case, but it could be even cooler.

Grimgor Eisenrauh. It's even a tiny pun (rau being rough, and rauh being an archaic word for pelt), and since WH is a comedy...I'd say that fits.

Stirn for Brow works too, imho. It's not literal but allegorical.
That's why there's the expression "Jemandem/Etwas die Stirn bieten" to oppose something.

Those are fun, too, and not too far from legitimate translations.

Something more cringe would be things like (note: this is not WH related) Lebendströhm for Livestream instead of Direktübertragung (Or Sofortübertragung or something) and the like.
