WTF OP Rogue Armies??!
Some of them start with level 30 lords and full high tier stacks. Then they declare war on you at turn 30 and steam roll your faction. How is this even a thing? Why did CA think this was a good idea?

For me in 1 of 5 campaigns they get aggressive and maybe take over parts of ulthuan or lustria but it happened to me once where they declared war on me early game but they don’t steam roll you unless you never played total war before

I think he speaks of those independet pirate ships. Dastan Coldeye starts with level 30.

Land armies raid for some gold but are by no means elite ones and don´t dare to declare war because they are getting their ass handed to them.

No, that's the pirates you're thinking of.
Rogue armies spawn randomly. Some start small, but quickly swell to a full 20 man stack and some recruit VERY strong unit's. College of Pyrotechnics, hope you like helstorms, cuz he got them. Thegan with his grail guardians, autoresolve is not your friend vs him. And.. then there's Vashnaar.

They tend to go to war with the faction the faction area they spawn into. I've had Vashnaar appear about 7 times in my starting province pre turn 25, declaring war a turn later. There's nothing you can do to stop that, not even the lizard emergency dino army can handle him. Not to mention, each town they take will have a garrison that is a copy of their spawning army.

You are right but I consider pirates to be rogues too^^
and I have to admit that in almost 1000 hours these "not pirate" rogue armies never did anything to me. they may screw up the AI on the other side of the world but when they decide to spawn in my territory it´s either:
- right beside 1-2 stacks of my own and they die without recruiting a single unit
- raid the region till they have 2-3 armies and then run away because they are afraid of me

I can not remember a single time they attacked me first (unlike these **** pirates xD)

That last part is only true depending on just which one spawns. Some of them start with T4-5 units and can stack themselves very high early on. If you get one of these at turn 25 or so and have a late game doomstack knocking on your gates, there isn't too much even experienced players can do when you simply don't have the units to counter them. I've never been fully wiped out by one of these armies, but I've had them set me back like I just started the game around turn 50. One was the full WE treeman army I got when playing Khalida once. Lost my capital and other settlements, leaving me with just one capital before I got myself back on my feet.

It's always Vashnaar ^^ He and the college of pyromancers XD

Man those guys used to drive me crazy! I haven't seen them in forever though. I've noticed that Rogue Factions seem to be a bit more aggressive and more likely to make a mark on the map...at least until a much larger faction decides to eat them.

I like how if you let even a broken army with one unit left in it get away, somehow they grow back quickly. They make good nemesis-es(?).

I've actually had a couple of my rogue armies just chillin' in place and not moving at all recently. Vashnaar sort of hung out in Araby for a bit and disappeared. I invited him to help me deal with Clan Mors in exchange for 30k and haven't heard from him since.
