Strange thing is, Empire already have most of the schools of magic, barring a few.
Altdorf college of magic has 8 orders. The only missing one is metal because of Gelt. Its the only reason why we dont have this order in game. To make Gelt more unique character in the empire roster.
Thats why there was no problem in adding metal wizard for elves.
personally I believe that metal wizard will appear for the empire eventually

if you give empire a generic metal caster then gelt is basically reduced to "metal caster but takes up a lord slot + a bit better at casting"
as IS gelt already struggles to find his niche a bit last thing he needs is a generic character filling the same role
i have a feeling gelt will eventually get a bit of a touch up and be given a few more unique abilities and THEN empire will get a generic metal caster
If it makes Geld feel bad, then tough luck for him.
