Archaon the Everchosen - I have no idea how to beat
His single stack single handedly destroyed my vampire count kingdom. I had the strongest armies Ive ever had and even doubled up stacks and could not beat him. I know I have to get better but he seems way OP compared to any other army/faction on the map. I believe I can turn off the chaos invasion...I will be doing that next game.

If you're happy to cheese then it's worth noting that Chaos don't really have much ranged or many flying units. A properly upgraded Mannfred with a flying mount on his own could take Archaon's full army on and win (throw in 19 terrorgheists/vargheists/flying vampire heroes and profit).
EDIT: throw in one necromancer and hide him behind a tree. Thanks Fryskar.

Use ur magic AOE spells with your casters to thin their front line melee. Flank with your monsters and take our his artillery. Use your heroes to engage their cav.

What does your "best stack" contain? Adding battle difficulty wouldn't hurt either.

Having 1 ground bound unit is a pretty much a must, else you quickly lose due to rules.

Is it? I've never had any problem with one man doomstacks on flying mounts. I think it's a problem in defensive sieges but I didn't think this was a siege.

I don't know the total time, but its not that long. It ticks down unless something is on the ground.
Maybe def sieges are different.

Yeah I think that's just with defensive sieges. I know a lot of people don't like legend but here's a video of Mannfred on his own flying around for about 25 minutes without really landing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df1jX--wU54
EDIT: Apologies you're right. My memory's awful these days.

Can't watch videos atm, but the only answer i found is that you should loose about ~2 leadership per second unless anything is on the ground (flyer landing counts) which should reset it.

You were a bit quick for me: "actually it might be cos I always farm killing Gotrek which gets my LLs the unbreakable trait." EDIT: I think it'd still be doable without though. You'd just have to manage your healing and winds of death well/constantly swoop in and then dash back out. EDIT 2: Apologies you're right. My memory these days.

At worst that means you'll use up a lot of wind (can't counter t2 decay with) or all besides your lord die.
Imo VC got good enough groundbound high tier stuff to use.
So far i understood you don't need to worry about it much if you cycle units.

I rarely ever end up using any of that stuff. Skeletons, lords, heroes and vargheists are usually more than enough. The Vampire counts have some of the most insanely powerful lords if you use them right. Also in case you don't see it: apologies, you're right. My memory is just awful these days I swear.

This last battle that broke my back contained two armies. These armies both consisted of Manfred on a zombie dragon, a mounted ghoul king (both around lvl 25 or so), two corpse carts (bale fire), about 4 vargheists (pardon spelling as I kick this out), a horde of grave guards and grave guards with great weapons, crypt ghouls (maybe around 6 or 7, about 8 cairn wraiths, 3 black knights, and some crypt horrors. ...and 1 varghulf. One thing I may be doing wrong (more than 1 thing) is I have too many skeletons. I thought the grave guards would hold better but they just stop them for a bit and then eventually crumble. I am clueless on how to really use my magic properly. Raising the dead over and over works against the other factions on the map but offensively I dont know what the best weapon is.

I'd drop the cryptghouls before the skeletons (if you ment the grave guard), since they can't stand against chaos warriors/chosen. All they can is apply poison and then die.

Its a bit much cav too, unless you're really good at micro.
E: mistook crain wraiths for the cav version, number is fine.

Can't see anything about heroes either. The lore of the vamps is pretty potent, but probably a bit less vs achries elite.
Deathlore fares most likely worse.

VC got strong lords and monsters, their infanty isn't that much, but only a few can beat against chosen anyway.
